Chapter 63: Eating Duck

Opening the door, the world behind it was completely different from what Pei Ye had imagined.

The thief she thought she had was not a thief.

Two ghosts.

One male and one female.

The male ghost was wearing a loose striped pair of sleep pants, his upper body bare and thin, with a slightly protruding belly, while his ribs were still clearly visible. His face, however, was fairly decent.

The female ghost had an unusually plump figure, her layers of fat tightly squeezed into a lotus pink camisole nightdress. She was currently acting flirtatiously toward the male ghost.

The male ghost asked the female ghost, “Why are you wearing Ru Ping’s clothes?”

The female ghost used her short, chubby fingers to twirl her slightly curled hair and shot the male ghost a coy glance.

“If you are going to pursue excitement, you have to see it through to the end.”

The male ghost paused for a moment, then suddenly revealed a lecherous, spirited smile.

“You are so naughty!”

After saying that, the two ghosts could not help but embrace each other. The female ghost even lifted the male ghost in a princess carry, and the two of them fell onto Pei Ye’s bed.

Pei Ye: “???”

The female ghost sat on top of the male ghost, grabbed his face, and planted several fierce kisses on him, practically smearing her lipstick all over his face.

The male ghost responded just as excitedly. It looked like they were about to act out something inappropriate when he suddenly noticed something and struggled to push the female ghost away.

“Wait, something is not right!”

The female ghost was already impatient to take things further. Being stopped at this moment made her instantly annoyed.

“What is not right?”

She was already ready to press the accelerator all the way down. How could he stop her now?

Ghost business, right?

The male ghost struggled to pull his face out from the female ghost’s flesh.

“No, that person over there seems to be able to see us.”

The female ghost: “???”

Both ghosts turned their heads toward the doorway and met a pair of dark, complex eyes.

The female ghost felt a bit uneasy and asked uncertainly, “She probably cannot see us, right?”

Honestly, she did not even believe her own words.

Pei Ye stood at the door for a while. The cigarette in her mouth had already burned down by a third. There was no doubt she could see them.

“But, but it looks like she really can see us…”

The two ghosts should have been grateful that Pei Ye had restrained her killing aura.

Otherwise, they might have been so frightened they developed psychological trauma and never dared to do anything like this again in their ghostly lives.

Pei Ye cut off their completely unrestrained conversation.

“You two little ghosts, are you looking to die?”

They could hook up anywhere they wanted, why choose her room specifically?

The male ghost’s ghostly face turned even paler in fear as he secretly covered his lower body.

The female ghost, however, raised her eyebrows and climbed down from the male ghost, striding forward aggressively.

“Are you sick? Since you can see us, why did you not move away? Do you enjoy watching people do things?”

Pei Ye said, “This is the room I booked.”

She had paid for this room.

These two ghosts did not even check in at the front desk, yet they broke into her room and acted so self-righteously.

Little did she know, ghosts were exactly this unreasonable.

Not to mention a small cheap hotel like this, the female ghost could enter even a presidential suite whenever she wanted.

The female ghost placed her hands on her hips, pushing out her ample chest toward Pei Ye in a posture ready to fight.

“Not anymore. Get out of the way if you know what is good for you. Do not get in the way of my business!”

Pei Ye did nothing. She simply released the killing aura she had been restraining.

In the next second, the female ghost who had been confidently puffing out her chest and looking down her nose at Pei Ye immediately cowered.

The female ghost clutched her head and screamed.

“Ghost!!!”

Mom, why was there such a terrifying person in the world?

So scared that even her impressive figure seemed to collapse inward.

The male ghost was even more frightened, trembling so badly he wished he could shrink into a ball of ghostly shadow.

Pei Ye casually drew a talisman, and the two talismans flew toward the ghosts, turning into chains that bound them tightly from head to toe.

“Now answer me again,” she said as she pulled a chair over, sat down with a faint smile, and carried the air of a boss.

“Whose room is this?”

The female ghost trembled. The layers of fat around her waist also quivered, rippling like waves.

“Boss, I was wrong… this is your room!”

She really did not know what kind of bad luck she had. She just came out to eat duck and ended up running into such a difficult character.

“What use is an apology with your mouth? If apologies worked, why would we need underworld messengers?”

“I am willing to compensate you ten times, no, a hundred times the loss! Please let me arrange a five star presidential suite for you!” the female ghost hurriedly said, realizing there might be room to negotiate. “Please show mercy and let this matter go. Just treat this little ghost like air and let me off!”

Pei Ye became interested when she heard this.

“This mouth of yours is quite good at ghost talk. Do you think you are acting in a drama?”

The female ghost immediately became shy.

“I am a professionally trained actress.”

Pei Ye: “…”

The female ghost was named Ye Wei.

The male ghost was a gigolo Ye Wei had brought along after coming out to eat duck, a pitiful ghost who had died suddenly in a hotel a few years ago.

“I cannot do normal work,” the male ghost said pitifully to Pei Ye. “I was not very capable when I was alive and did not earn much. My parents disliked me, and after I died no one even burned me money, clothes, or food. I can only occasionally do this kind of work to barely survive. Boss, I promise I will reform and never do this illegal stuff again. Please spare this ghost life.”

If he had not had a somewhat decent face, he probably would not even have been qualified for this kind of gigolo work.

When he was alive it was one thing, but why was there still anti vice enforcement after death?

Ye Wei felt ashamed. Although she had not come out to eat duck for the first time, this was the first time she had been caught.

Pei Ye: “…”

She really was not here to enforce anti vice law.

The two ghosts were tied up tightly by chains in the corner of the room. If they hugged their heads too, the scene would probably be even more atmospheric.

The male ghost had not offended Pei Ye, so after confirming he had done no harm, she let him go.

Ye Wei looked at her eagerly.

If not for how terrifying Pei Ye was, her flirtatious eyes would probably have been thrown out of her sockets by now.

Pei Ye bit her cigarette and smiled faintly.

“You? I cannot let you go yet.”

Ye Wei’s face immediately fell.

“You said you would compensate ten times or a hundred times, and even arrange a five star presidential suite. That is the compensation I am owed for emotional distress, is it not?”

At first, Pei Ye had just been teasing the female ghost. After all, ghosts belonged to the underworld rather than the living world. Ye Wei might have money to come out and eat duck, but that did not mean she could directly affect the living world, let alone pay compensation or arrange a presidential suite.

Unexpectedly, this Ye Wei actually had some real connections.

To be precise, she had connections.

She borrowed Pei Ye’s phone and made an unknown call. The moment she spoke, it stunned Pei Ye into silence.

“Senior brother, sob sob, come save me!”

Ye Wei was very cooperative and turned on speaker mode so Pei Ye could hear everything.

The voice on the phone was a man, probably around forty years old from the sound.

“Save you? Junior sister, what happened? Did you run into a Celestial Master? Are you alright now? How much money do I need to bring to bail you out?”

Questions fired out like rapid cannon shots without pause.

From his tone, he was clearly very worried about Ye Wei’s safety.

Ye Wei let out a pitiful sob.

“I got caught while eating duck. I accidentally offended a big shot. Hurry up and come get me.”

After she finished speaking, there was a long, very long silence on the other end.

So long that it made one wonder if the signal had dropped.

After a while, the senior brother finally found his voice, trembling slightly.

“You mean you ate someone else’s prepared duck?”
