`Chapter 11
Chapter 11
【Main Task “Self-Examination Three Times a Day: Terminated the Contract? Terminated the Contract?? Terminated the Contract???” Completed】
【Task Reward: Explosive Drama Prophet】
At five in the morning, the alarm rang on time.
Shi Yin, hair tousled and eyes half-open, sat up sleepily, staring blankly for several seconds before her senses fully returned, realizing where she was.
There was a push notification on her phone—her resignation had been approved. Yang Tianming had clicked to approve it in the middle of the night. Shi Yin opened DingTalk but was prompted “No Permission.” After refreshing, even company verification had disappeared—all groups related to Feng Yang had removed her, handled cleanly and thoroughly.
Shi Yin didn’t get angry; the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but lift.
This meant she had officially severed ties with Feng Yang.
There were also a dozen missed calls from Yan Li on the screen, but Shi Yin was too lazy to deal with them and immediately dragged the number into the blacklist.
She stretched and silently murmured in her mind: “Xiao Assistant.”
The virtual interface responded and opened; the main task indeed showed 【Completed】. Shi Yin clicked to claim the reward. With a “bang” of a firework effect, a device resembling a mini scanner materialized on the bed.
Shi Yin instantly became fully alert, springing up like a startled rabbit—the reward was a physical item! She carefully picked up the machine to examine it. The silver shell felt icy to the touch, with a foldable scanning area on top, containing a set of specially designed photosensitive elements. It was likely a device for analyzing scripts.
Shi Yin jumped barefoot from the bed, grabbed half of the “Song of the Turbulent Times” script from the bookshelf, and neatly placed it into the scanning area.
“Click—”
A faint white light slowly scanned across the pages. About thirty seconds later, a semi-transparent system screen displayed the corresponding report.
The content was a lot; she read it while washing up.

Shi Yin tore open a bag of bread, chewing while silently nodding at the evaluation of Princess Yu Ying—basically consistent with her judgment when reading the original work. She thought for a moment and scanned the remaining loose pages she had; this time, Yu Ying’s evaluation improved noticeably, but the overall film rating didn’t change much.
If “Song of the Turbulent Times” could truly reach a billion in box office, it wouldn’t be spectacular in the context of films grossing 4–5 billion, but for the emerging director Qiu He, eager to prove his work, and Ming Zhe, newly among the top stars and urgently needing achievements, it would undoubtedly be a solid stepping stone.
Shi Yin changed into sportswear and went downstairs, feeling fresh and energetic. Today was her first day of the part-time job, and Luo Wensheng said a car would pick her up.
A car with its hazard lights on was parked by the roadside outside the community. Shi Yin compared the license plate three times, confirmed it was correct, and stared wordlessly at the dazzling little golden figure on the hood for a long moment before opening the car door.
“Driver, do you have to come pick me up in this car? Is there a rule?” Shi Yin rubbed the white leather seat, unable to help asking.
“Nope.” The driver, named Cheng Lei, was not the same person who had driven her home last time, and seemed a bit more talkative.
“Can we switch to another car?” Shi Yin suggested. “Something lower-key.”
This was a Rolls-Royce Phantom! The pinnacle of luxury, a symbol of the upper echelon, way too showy—she didn’t deserve it!
“Switch to another car…” Cheng Lei scratched his head and readily agreed, “Sure, I’ll switch one tomorrow.”
Shi Yin felt instantly relieved. “Okay, thank you, driver!”
Shi Yin had assumed her destination was somewhere like a training ground, but the Phantom drove through the city center, along the outskirts of Ming Lake, heading nonstop toward the mid-mountain villa area.
Ming Lake, a famous open scenic area in Tan City, was beautiful all year round. Its surroundings were top-tier, perfect for healing and relaxation. The detached villa Shi Yin arrived at clearly reflected careful design: tall, lush trees planted around served both as beautiful landscaping and a natural privacy barrier, completely shielding the residence from view.
Shi Yin sipped half a cup of tea in the living room when the dog trainer arrived, dragging along a reluctantly obedient Prince.
She smiled and waved at the puppy. “Good morning, little prince~”
The Border Collie’s deep brown eyes shone with pure joy. Excited, it dashed forward like a little cannonball, pouncing into Shi Yin’s arms. She was hit with the same force as before, staggering into the sofa.
“Prince, sit.” The trainer pressed the clicker twice, giving the command.
The lively puppy immediately brought its front paws together, assuming the most standard sitting posture, obedient like a plush toy.
Shi Yin covered her chest, utterly charmed.
“Hello, Miss Shi, I’m Kevin,” the trainer greeted. “Prince has just finished warming up. Today’s plan is interval running around Ming Lake, using a tug toy. Shall we start now?”
“No problem,” Shi Yin replied, getting up. “Let’s start.”
The bandage on her leg had been removed, but her ankle wasn’t fully healed. Kevin had prepared an electric scooter for her, with a plush sheep toy tied to the rear with an elastic cord. He rode a bicycle beside her to easily manage the leash.
“Miss Shi, lead in front and try to keep the speed around 15 km/h.”
Kevin fitted Prince with a chest harness while Shi Yin watched him put a brand-new Apple Watch on the puppy’s front leg. Prince acted completely accustomed and cooperatively lifted his paw.
“For heart rate monitoring,” Kevin said with a broad smile.
Shi Yin: “…” She was momentarily speechless.
Lowering her center of gravity, she gave a gentle push. The scooter hummed and surged forward. Let’s go! GOGOGO!
Prince immediately sprang up, instincts kicking in. It sprinted a few steps, biting the swinging toy precisely, played with it a moment, then spit it out. After a few repeats, it seemed bored, lifting its head to look expectantly at Shi Yin.
Shi Yin couldn’t quite read the puppy’s mind but maintained the 15 km/h pace, enjoying the morning breeze, feeling wonderfully refreshed.
Suddenly, Prince shot forward like a black-and-white streak of lightning, reaching the front, grumbling twice in discontent. When Shi Yin lazily overtook him, he surged ahead again, turning back and howling, nearly speaking human words in frustration.
Kevin, panting, caught up. “Prince, run straight! We’re not practicing shuttle runs right now.”
The Border Collie turned its head unhappily. Somehow, twisting and turning, it nimbly freed itself from Kevin’s grasp. It ran to Shi Yin, leash in mouth, tail wagging like a blooming dandelion.
Shi Yin noticed that its affection value had somehow reached +6. “You don’t want to run anymore?”
Prince: “Woof!”
Shi Yin: “No? Then you want to… run with me?”
Prince: “Woof! Woof!”
Alright, the puppy likes her so much, might as well indulge it!
Shi Yin tied the leash to the handlebar. Just as she steadied herself, Prince shot forward like a meteor. His fluffy fur flared in the wind, and during turns, he drifted perfectly, showcasing the Border Collie’s astonishing agility and control.
Amid the gasps and admiration of passersby, Shi Yin breathed the fresh, free air, feeling her entire heart almost lift off.
A puppy’s happiness is simple.
So is hers.
When she returned to the villa, a Porsche Cayenne was parked in the yard. Lu Wen Sheng, dressed neatly, was waiting in the living room, fingers swiping quickly across a tablet.
Shi Yin washed her hands and just sat down when he pushed over a stack of documents. “Miss Shi, this is a service contract. Mr. Li Yan formally hires you to accompany Prince for learning and exercise. You must guarantee at least ten hours of work per week. The monthly salary is 20,000 after tax, for a one-year contract, until Prince reaches adulthood. If you have any objections, you may raise them.”
“I have no objections,” Shi Yin said, carefully scanning the clauses, teasing casually, “I just didn’t expect the contract to be this formal.”
She had only heard of crown princes having tutors in ancient times; she never imagined one day she could be the tutor for a dog prince.
Lu Wen Sheng, however, didn’t get her joke and tapped the table in a businesslike manner. “This is a formal contract. You may have a lawyer review it. I need to make it clear,” his gaze briefly flicked past her ankle, “your employer will not request any services beyond what the contract stipulates.”
Shi Yin restrained her smile, keenly sensing the scrutiny in his words. She instinctively glanced over Lu Wen Sheng’s head—affection value still at 0. So this wasn’t personal, just his usual attitude?
“Has Li Yan returned?” she casually shifted the topic. “As the principal party, doesn’t he need to sign?”
Lu Wen Sheng’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Miss Shi, a piece of advice: do not inquire about Mr. Li Yan’s whereabouts.”
“Understood,” Shi Yin replied. She dared only a small tease, then neatly signed her name and asked, “Assistant Lu, what’s the situation with Xu Wei now?”
“Xu Wei has been criminally detained and won’t bother you in the short term,” Lu Wen Sheng said.
“Criminally detained?” Shi Yin was slightly surprised. “Because of the crackdown? I saw the news.”
“Not entirely,” Lu Wen Sheng was sparing with words, unwilling to reveal too much. “The details are still under investigation.”
“Then… as far as I know, using laughing gas is usually only an administrative penalty?” Shi Yin wanted to clarify, very concerned about her personal safety.
“There were minors present, and it involved public disturbance. Sentences are heavier in such cases,” Lu Wen Sheng replied concisely.
“…I see.” Shi Yin responded softly, a chill creeping up her spine. She thought if she hadn’t insisted on contract termination, if two years ago she had bowed to Yang Tian Ming, today she might have been trapped instead.
Fortunately, she had broken free from that quagmire.
Now she stood here, breathing in the air of freedom.
【Side Quest “Turn the Clouds with a Hand” completed】
【Quest Reward: Zhuang Wan Yan’s Gossip (Purple) x1, Sanda (Beginner)】
Shi Yin was momentarily stunned when the system notification sounded.
A strange warmth surged through her body. Her muscles stretched, her previously clumsy limbs felt precisely calibrated, moving with unusual coordination. Countless footwork techniques, evasion skills, and attack-defense maneuvers in Sanda flooded her mind, as if these skills had already been deeply ingrained in her muscle memory.
On the way back to the community, Shi Yin turned into the children’s taekwondo hall downstairs. She walked around, smiling, and invited five children practicing there to “spar.” Three minutes later, three little kids were easily pinned to the mats, while the other two pouted, wiping tears. The culprit, satisfied, clapped her hands and sneaked home with her achievements quietly concealed.
Shi Yin sent Wen Jin He a WeChat message:
“Hello, Sister Wen, I’m Shi Yin. We met at Heng Xing last Wednesday. I have now terminated my contract and would like to schedule a time to discuss in detail. When would be convenient for you?”
Wen Jin He’s reply came slowly:
“Tomorrow at 10 a.m., at Kong Shan Cafe.”
Just as she read it, the familiar system notification sounded again:
【Side Quest “For All Who Love Persistently” completed】
【Quest Reward: Pop Song Singing Technique (Beginner)】
Huh? Shi Yin blinked, full of confusion—Wen Jin He’s affection value increased? Just for sending a message?
Had she known, she would have sent her morning and evening greetings daily to bombard her! Shi Yin slapped her thigh in regret.
However, completing three quests in one day was incredibly satisfying!
“Left hand holding a flower, right hand waving the sword~
Snow falling between my brows for ten thousand years~
A single tear, ah ah ah~~
That’s me, ah ah ah~~”
Shi Yin rolled on the bed hugging a pillow, humming the song with the air conditioner remote as a microphone, feeling good about herself, smiling sweetly as she drifted into sleep.
A night of good rest.
The next day at dawn, she went downstairs on time and, sure enough, no longer saw that flashy Rolls-Royce Phantom.
—Hmm, replaced with a Bentley Mulsanne.

Master Cheng: Just tell me, did you switch it or not?
