Chapter 4: Conquering with Force, Supplemented by Words

The Lu family members watching from the sidelines had their eyes wide open. Fang Yuan’s domineering nature and unreasonable behavior had finally been fully demonstrated to them. Fang Yuan showed not the slightest bit of guilt about what she was taking.

To match her words, Fang Yuan kicked the luggage roll toward the doorway with one foot. She had not taken Li Meng’s words seriously at all.

Fang Yuan raised her head and looked at the Lu family’s second son. There was a trace of disdain in her eyes. Such a grown man, yet not a shred of cleverness. She pointed at the luggage on the ground. “What are you staring at? Take it back.”

Take it back just like that? Back where? How had she gotten so used to ordering him around?

Yet somehow, the dejected Lu Er felt something different. This female fiend certainly had a talent for grabbing things.

Fang Yuan did not consider anyone else’s feelings. She continued giving instructions to Lu Er. “And my dowry. Find a cart, load everything onto it, and take it away.”

She simply did not want to stay in this place and breathe the same air as those two people.

Afraid that this woman might set her sights on him, Lu Third immediately stepped forward. He enthusiastically cooperated with his second sister-in-law, acting like a loyal lackey. “I’ll help Second Sister-in-law move the dowry.”

Mother Lu, who had just finished comforting herself, broke down again. A family division. Before long, these things would no longer belong to the family. They would belong to the second son’s household. Clutching her chest, she felt the pain return.

Father Lu immediately wilted. The first time Fang Yuan had argued with someone, she had overturned a table. The later arguments had left nail marks still visible on his eldest son’s face.

If it came to being unreasonable, he did not dare.

If it came to reason, it was still the same problem. His family was in the wrong.

There was no way to explain the woman beside his eldest son.

Once property was involved, Lu Feng no longer felt guilty. What should be fought for still had to be fought for. Covering his nose with one hand, he protested, “You’re going too far. I’m the one who’ll support our parents in their old age.” This house should be his.

Fang Yuan sneered. “You spineless thing. Being immoral is one thing, but you haven’t even figured out whose child that woman is carrying, and you’re talking about supporting your parents in old age?”

Li Meng did not want to hear that. Wasn’t that insulting her? “You woman, who are you insulting? Brother Feng is the eldest legitimate son of the main family line. The child in my belly is the legitimate grandson.”

Good heavens, she spoke as though the Lu family had mountains of gold and silver waiting to be inherited.
