Chapter 110: Isn’t This Easy Enough to Get?

After dinner, Zhang Yang drove Lin Jingmin straight to the Intercontinental Hotel.

They had reserved a high-floor lake-view room.

“Do you want to shower first, or should I?” Zhang Yang drew back the floor-to-ceiling curtains and admired the view.

Compared to the grandeur of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, the lake here highlighted a small-but-beautiful charm, reminiscent of the slow rhythm of his hometown.

“Maybe…” Lin Jingmin started to say something.

“Forget it, you go first,” Zhang Yang said, showing no strange urge to insist on showering together.

Lin Jingmin nodded and stepped into the bathroom.

Zhang Yang leisurely opened the window and lit a cigarette, moving slowly until he heard footsteps behind him.

He glanced back and saw Lin Jingmin emerging, wrapped in a towel.

“Mr. Zhang, I’m done.”

Her usually composed and restrained face was slightly flushed from the shower, and she hesitated to look up.

Zhang Yang smiled, nodded, and walked into the bathroom.

In the suite, Lin Jingmin sat at the edge of the bed, feeling a little nervous.

She twisted open a water bottle, took a sip to calm herself, and opened her phone.

As soon as it powered on, WeChat was filled with unread messages:

Meng Mingfeng: Are you busy? Why didn’t you reply?

Meng Mingfeng: Do you want me to help with that project? If not, I can have my sister arrange to meet her classmate.

Lin Jingmin was speechless and almost wanted to delete him.

Suddenly, she heard movement.

She looked up just as the bathroom door opened.

Zhang Yang emerged, a towel around his waist, his upper body sculpted and gleaming under the steamy haze and dim lighting.

“My, Mr. Zhang’s physique is this good?” she thought.

Zhang Yang, drying his hair, saw her reaction and wasn’t surprised at all.

Nightfall, time was precious.

They wasted no time, and under the moonlight and soft lighting, they embraced.

That night, Zhang Yang truly felt the fiery passion beneath Lin Jingmin’s composed exterior.

In the middle of the night, he wondered: Meng Mingfeng is young, has his own renovation company, drives a Range Rover, yet pursuing girls seems so difficult?

Lin Jingmin, the designer, wasn’t she easy to win? Once obtained, she was his.

Later that night, Zhang Yang gently moved the white, soft arm resting on his chest and went to the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror, seeing his increasingly striking appearance and physique, he understood immediately: it’s all about the person.

He was handsome, fit, and holding a fifteen-million project. With such advantages, Lin Jingmin wasn’t some rare celestial beauty-of course he could win her over.

“Life is truly lonely as snow,” he muttered whimsically, lying back down and putting her arm back in place.

Early the next morning, both woke up early.

Lin Jingmin felt slightly embarrassed; her personality was never overtly passionate. Dressed, she maintained her usual refined and intellectual image.

“Mr. Zhang, can you help me pick up my clothes?” Her cheeks were flushed as she reached for clothes on the floor.

“No problem,” Zhang Yang said effortlessly. He got up, handed her the clothes, and then went to shower.

By seven or eight o’clock, they walked out of the lake-view suite, looking normal, as if nothing had happened.

“Just make sure you handle the project well, don’t let me down,” Zhang Yang said.

Lin Jingmin’s face lit up.

“Mr. Zhang, I won’t let you down,” she replied.

“I believe you. You didn’t let me down last night either,” Zhang Yang said with a smile, glancing at her composed, intellectual appearance, and remembering the night before. He casually pulled her close.

The villa’s construction period would be long; there would be many more interactions between them.

Lin Jingmin couldn’t maintain her composure and blushed as Zhang Yang’s hand rested on her waist.

After breakfast, they headed straight to Jade Estate Design to sign the contract.

“Lin Jie, bringing the client to sign the contract!”

“Good morning, Lin Jie.”

In the office, Lin Jingmin immediately returned to her poised and intellectual demeanor.

Zhang Yang could see her title as chief designer was genuine, not just empty prestige.

“Mr. Zhang, please sit. I’ll get the contract.”

Lin Jingmin had him sit while she busied herself with tea and water, attending to him carefully.

“Lin Jingmin, the boss is looking for you.”

Zhang Yang glanced at the contract, Lin Jingmin sat close by, while someone peeked in.

“What is it?” Lin Jingmin said irritably. “Can’t you see I’m signing?”

“Oh, okay,” the person withdrew.

“Sorry, Mr. Zhang. Let’s continue,” she said, apologizing.

Zhang Yang reached under the table again, and Lin Jingmin blushed.

A while later, the door opened again.

“Lin Jingmin, none of my words work? I asked you here for a good reason,” a voice called.

Zhang Yang looked up and saw a middle-aged man with a ponytail and an artistic air.

“Mr. Zhang, please wait,” Lin Jingmin said, standing and gently closing the door behind her.

Outside, he overheard her voice:

“Mr. Liu, please calm down, my client is here,” she said firmly.

“My friend’s niece’s wedding house needs renovation, and she came straight for your reputation in Yinghai’s design world. You’re not taking the project?” the man said, surprised. “What’s the status? If needed, I can have someone start for you while you meet her.”

“Status? It’s about to be signed. A fifteen-million project, Mr. Liu, are you confused?” Lin Jingmin said coldly.

Zhang Yang, sitting in the office, could feel the confidence a fifteen-million project gave her-it made him chuckle.

“What?” came a shout from outside.

Moments later, the door opened, revealing a smiling face.

“Mr. Zhang! Sorry for the delay. I’m Liu, the owner of Jade Estate Design,” he said, extending his hand expectantly.

Zhang Yang shook it casually.

“Mr. Zhang, come to my office for tea and a detailed chat?”

“No need. Lin Jingmin and I have it covered. We’ll sign directly so you won’t waste time,” Zhang Yang replied. His time was precious; he didn’t want to bargain.

“Really going to sign?” Liu’s eyes widened as he glanced at Lin Jingmin, then at the tall, handsome Mr. Zhang.

After a moment, Zhang Yang signed in Lin Jingmin’s office.

“I was going to review your proposal, but never mind-sign first. Send me the proposal ASAP.”

“I’ll get it done quickly,” Lin Jingmin said, clenching her fists in excitement.

“Okay, send me your company account later,” Zhang Yang said, standing to get the details and prepare the payment.

They left the office together, drawing attention from everyone.

Everyone knew that Lin Jingmin, the chief designer, had just secured a fifteen-million project.

And the tall, handsome man in front of her-he was the client.

Outside the building, Zhang Yang and Lin Jingmin walked laughingly together, spotting Meng Mingfeng waiting.

They stared at each other.

“Zh… Brother Zhang?” Meng Mingfeng gasped, looking at Lin Jingmin. “You signed this project?”

“Yes,” Lin Jingmin said, smiling at Zhang Yang.

Her smile was for him.

Meng Mingfeng felt a strange mix of emotions.

He had come early, excited to offer help since his sister and Zhang Yang were classmates.

Now he realized it was too late-he had no chance.

“Alright, I’ll head back. We’ll contact via WeChat,” Zhang Yang said to Lin Jingmin, then nodded to Meng Mingfeng and walked to the nearby Cayenne.

The car left first.

“Congratulations, Lin Jingmin,” Meng Mingfeng muttered.

“Thanks, I have to get back to work now,” she replied curtly, entering the office.

Meng Mingfeng watched Lin Jingmin walk away, standing there with his hands at his sides, feeling strangely disheveled in the midday wind.

Zhang Yang drove and made a stop at his parents’ Haiqin Snack.

The new store’s funding had come through and was in full swing, while the old store continued operating as usual, busy day after day.

Outside the shop, Zhang Yang hadn’t even gotten out of the car when he received good news from Bei Wei.

“Signed three more franchise stores.”

Zhang Yang paused, then felt a surge of excitement.

Three more stores added.

With this, the number of branches in Shanghai had surpassed five, more than halfway to the target.

Judging by the current momentum, the remaining five stores would likely be completed in a few days at the shortest, or a week or two at most-completion was inevitable.

Once that happened, he could invest in random industries, gain experience, and enjoy the rewards.

“Are there still many stores in talks?” Zhang Yang asked casually.

“Yes, recently they’ve been approaching us themselves, wanting to franchise. We still need to carefully select,” Bei Wei said with a smile.

“Select?” Zhang Yang blinked.

Select what? Any store should be allowed to join, right? Were they checking how long the store could last?

But seeing how seriously Bei Wei treated it as her career, he didn’t interfere.

Fine, he’d just follow her pace.

After a brief chat, Bei Wei hesitated a little, seeming reluctant to end the call but holding something back.

“I’m hanging up now, hubby.”

She said the last word so quickly that Zhang Yang barely caught them.

“Wait… what did you just call me?” Zhang Yang stopped her decisively.

“N… nothing,” Bei Wei stammered, her voice suddenly shy and flustered.

“Say the last word again,” Zhang Yang pressed.

“Hubby,” Bei Wei said softly.

“Like a mosquito,” Zhang Yang joked.

“Hubby…” Bei Wei lightly chided him, adding the word again with a hint of playfulness. “Stop teasing me! Take your idea from Bei Jiajia, go to her. I’m hanging up now!”

Zhang Yang put down his phone, shaking his head and smiling.

He opened the car door, walked over, and headed straight for the busy Haiqin Snack Shop.

Next door, a pair of sisters were chatting casually.

“Sis, I’m serious-you know, the son of the shop owner next door is ridiculously handsome. Too bad he has a girlfriend. But still, just looking isn’t a problem,” the younger sister said, tugging at her older sister.

“You’re always swooning and talking nonsense. Your taste-I really can’t agree with it,” the older sister, with a princess cut, said dismissively.

“See? You don’t believe me, seriously…” the younger sister muttered, looking toward a nearby Cayenne. Her eyes lit up. “Look! That’s him getting out of the Cayenne! Quick, look!”

She tugged at her older sister in excitement.

Her sister’s standards were absurdly high-expecting handsome, rich, devoted, and only affectionate toward her? Did she think she was the heroine of a novel?

“Where?” the older sister muttered, looking over.

From a distance, a tall, handsome figure bathed in the noon sunlight appeared, golden from head to toe, like a protagonist stepped out of a novel.

For a moment, her heart skipped a beat.

“Oh my god,” she pressed her hand to her chest.

The younger sister watched her older sister’s expression, feeling extremely proud.

No matter how high your standards, when faced with a handsome man, you kneel or you kneel.

“Are you sure he really has a girlfriend?” the older sister asked, still unwilling to believe it, as she watched him enter the shop next door.

“Absolutely, probably more than one. He’s that handsome,” the younger sister said, trying to pull her in. “You only like devoted guys, right? This one’s definitely not your type.”

“Actually… I guess this standard isn’t so strict anymore,” the older sister murmured, hesitating.

While the sisters bickered, Zhang Yang was already inside helping out.

Though he was the epitome of a wealthy, handsome man, when it came to work, he didn’t hold back.

Rolling up his sleeves, he casually placed his million-dollar Audemars Piguet Royal Oak on the counter and immediately got to work.

This was what down-to-earth looked like.

Several regular customers saw this and couldn’t stop praising him.

Song Wenqin, basking in the compliments, looked at her ridiculously handsome son and, though she didn’t say it, felt immense pride and joy.
