Main Text 1: Fighting

The sky was turning pale.

Towering trees with interwoven vines and leaves blocked out the sun, letting sparse rays of light filter through the gaps and fall on the glass window, casting a dim and gloomy shadow inside the room.

Guo Yanpeng’s cold and angry curses disrupted the silence of the room.

“Lin Qianyu?”

“Lin Qianyu! I’m talking to you, are you pretending to be deaf?!”

“Answer me, are you f**king mute now?!”

Her drifting consciousness had yet to return. The suppressed rage in that voice rang sharply in her ears. In the midst of the chaos, Lin Qianyu struggled to open her eyes, barely able to make out the man standing in front of her, looking down at her from above.

Seeing Lin Qianyu remain silent, Guo Yanpeng reached out and grabbed her collar roughly, impatiently saying, “This is the last time I’m saying this—stay away from Lan Qingyuan. If I catch you troubling her again, I won’t be so nice to you!”

Lin Qianyu’s brows furrowed, her face pale as paper. She completely ignored Guo Yanpeng, whose face was full of anger. Quietly and silently, she was trying to digest the foreign memories flooding her mind.

As fragments of memories surfaced, Lin Qianyu closed her eyes briefly, surprised.

She had actually transmigrated into a book.

And it was a novel about the entertainment industry she had read before.

She had even thought it was amusing that a side character in the book shared her name. She used to pick it up and flip through it when bored, and had quite a vivid impression of it.

So now… she hadn’t made it home, and had instead ended up in this damned place?!

Lin Qianyu clenched her fist. Damn it.

If she had known the world consciousness of that infinite flow world was so unreliable, she would’ve just blown that place up instead of trying to negotiate her way home.

After a moment, she let out a long sigh.

Scenes from the book’s plot kept flashing through her mind.

In the original novel, the side character Lin Qianyu appeared in this wilderness survival reality show, constantly displaying negativity, arguments, and bad attitudes—used as a foil to highlight the kindness and hardworking resilience of the female lead.

The original Lin Qianyu was somewhat known in the entertainment circle, but mostly for negative reasons. Her reputation was mediocre. Coupled with her poor health, she was frequently absent from filming after joining a crew. Her poor acting was mocked and often trended on social media.

Online, her name was often associated with terms like “delicate,” “resource-hogging nobody,” and so on.

In the live-streamed wilderness survival show called Wilderness, the original female lead’s simp, Guo Yanpeng, would constantly watch Lin Qianyu like a hawk, always ready to butt in and provoke her.

And Lin Qianyu was hot-tempered—she never tolerated his sarcastic remarks and would always lash back on the spot. The female lead would always show up at just the right moment to mediate, while Lin Qianyu was left fuming, stuck between reacting or holding back. This back-and-forth quickly soured viewers’ impressions of her during the livestream.

After a few such clashes, and with the female lead always stepping in to smooth things over, the live chat was flooded with criticism, accusing Lin Qianyu of being ungrateful and difficult.

Unknowingly, it only further boosted the female lead’s positive image.

As for Lin Qianyu, the side character, after giving away the spotlight and popularity, she exited the stage in disgrace. Later in the story, she was deliberately suppressed by one of the female lead’s admirers, ended up on the streets, and ultimately died miserably in a foreign land.

The female lead, being gentle and kind, even scolded the admirer afterward, then naturally took over the resources that originally belonged to the side character, firmly stating she would fulfill the dreams the side character never could.

Having sorted through all the memories, Lin Qianyu: “……”

What a noble way to “fulfill someone’s dream.”

She was nothing but a self-serving hypocrite.

Lin Qianyu narrowed her eyes slightly, scanning her current surroundings. When her gaze fell on the man in front of her, she paused. She figured this must be one of An Lanqing’s simps—a popular celebrity who joined this show just to follow An Lanqing.

Before filming even began, he had come to her room specifically to threaten her.

Lin Qianyu's prolonged silence gave Guo Yanpeng the feeling that he was being looked down on. Raised with privilege since childhood, he immediately flew into a rage. Just as he was about to yank her up by the collar—

The next second, a pale, slender hand gently touched his wrist.

It felt as light as a feather—hardly any pressure at all—but the sharp pain that shot through his wrist made Guo Yanpeng’s face turn pale. His motion froze. He opened his mouth in shock, staring at the hand on his wrist: “You…”

Lin Qianyu slowly raised her eyes. Her pale lips parted, and she let out a few dry coughs. She looked so frail it seemed like a breeze could blow her away. Tilting her head slightly, she asked, “Who are you to An Lanqing? You're even getting this worked up for her.”

“What’s it to you? None of your damn business—ah!” The last syllable of Guo Yanpeng’s sneer shot up in pitch. His fingers curled in pain, and he finally let go of Lin Qianyu’s collar. “It hurts, it hurts! Let go!”

Lin Qianyu didn’t let go. She simply said calmly, “Busybody.”

This show had originally approached the original Lin Qianyu first, but the company quietly handed it to An Lanqing instead. The original agreed to join out of pride, to reclaim her position. And on the very first day of filming, she was cornered in her room and scolded by Guo Yanpeng.

If that’s not meddling, what is?

Because of her poor health, the original Lin Qianyu had been shoved hard by Guo Yanpeng, twisted her ankle, and was caught limping by the livestream camera as she went downstairs. It earned her a wave of criticism for no reason.

Guo Yanpeng clenched his jaw, especially when he caught the clear contempt in Lin Qianyu’s eyes. He felt his blood boil.

Who the hell are you to look at me like that?!

Furious, Guo Yanpeng swung a punch straight at her face.

The fierce wind of the punch whooshed toward her.

Lin Qianyu didn’t dodge—instead, she let go of his wrist and casually lifted her hand to block the punch with ease. Then, with a swift kick to his stomach, she sent him flying.Guo Yanpeng didn’t even have time to react—the pain in his stomach felt like his internal organs had been shattered. As he flew back, his spine slammed hard against the edge of the bed, followed by a pained scream, “Ah!”

Curled up on the floor, Guo Yanpeng clutched his stomach, sweating profusely from the pain.

When he noticed Lin Qianyu walking toward him, he instinctively shrank back, flinching in a conditioned reflex from the beating.

But Lin Qianyu paid him no mind. With a long stride, she stepped over him and walked into the bathroom, her fingertips idly playing under the running tap. “Still not getting lost?”

Guo Yanpeng shakily stood up, “You broke the rules. I’m going to tell the director and get you kicked off the show.”

Lin Qianyu raised an eyebrow. It was only thanks to his reminder that she remembered there was such a rule.

—[No physical conflict allowed between guests.]

But that was mainly to prevent fights over food.

Looking at him, Lin Qianyu not only didn’t panic—she even chuckled with interest, pulled a paper towel over to dry her hands, and said, “Sure, then go. Tell the director, tell the other guests, tell the entire livestream audience that I…” She pointed at herself, then at Guo Yanpeng, “beat you up.”

Guo Yanpeng let out a cold snort. “Just wait to get kicked off and pay the penalty.”

With that, he didn’t linger any longer. He supported himself against the wall and staggered downstairs.

Lin Qianyu closed the door unhurriedly, changed into lighter clothes, and followed him down.

“You’re saying—Lin Qianyu?”

The director’s voice was full of disbelief. “Her? Lin Qianyu beat you up?”

The emphasis was clearly on the second half of the sentence—it was obvious the director was bewildered.

Downstairs in the villa’s living room stood quite a few people. To avoid delaying the livestream kickoff, the guests and production team had arrived two days early to adjust to the environment.

The townhouses being used were located in a remote area, so the production team had rented an entire villa for the guests to stay in.

At the moment, the guests who had already come down to gather were sitting on the sofa, waiting for the next task.

Upon hearing Guo Yanpeng’s words, they couldn’t help but glance at each other, exchanging confused looks—they all saw the same bewilderment on each other’s faces.

Lin Qianyu? Who’s that?

Wasn’t she that famously sickly “delicate beauty” in the entertainment industry? The one who could barely run without passing out—she got into a fight? And not just with anyone, but with Guo Yanpeng, who had trained in self-defense since childhood?

Who would believe that?

Even An Lanqing, who always sided with Guo Yanpeng, looked stunned. Sitting upright on a single-seater sofa to the side, she didn’t even know if she should speak. The guests in the living room had already turned on the livestream when they came downstairs, and at this moment, every viewer’s comment section was full of question marks.

【???】

【Did I hear that right? Lin Qianyu hit someone?】

【LMAO! I was so scared yesterday watching the preview that Lin Qianyu might die on my phone, and now you’re telling me she hit someone?】

【Honestly, I kinda like Guo Yanpeng, but... bro, don’t be ridiculous. If she punched you, she might pass out from the effort.】

Looking at the director’s expression, Guo Yanpeng could tell he didn’t believe him.

Even Guo Yanpeng himself found the situation absurd, but it was the truth. “I swear, she kicked me. If you don’t believe me, look!”

As he spoke, he lifted his shirt—but his stomach, which had taken the hit, didn’t show a single visible mark.

Guo Yanpeng: “…”

Under everyone’s scrutinizing gaze, Guo Yanpeng took a deep breath, his face flushing red.

It was in this awkward and silent atmosphere that Lin Qianyu came downstairs. She seemed to be in a good mood and even had the leisure to greet everyone, “Good morning.”

Seeing her appear, Guo Yanpeng—who had been holding back his anger for half the morning—shouted, “Lin Qianyu! If you have any shame at all, admit you just assaulted me!”

Lin Qianyu had no intention of denying it. She covered half her face with one hand and coughed lightly, “Cough cough, yes, I hit him… cough cough! Cough—”

The coughing brought some color to her pale face, but it still looked like thin paper, as if she might collapse from taking a few extra steps.

Then they looked at Guo Yanpeng—aggressive and overbearing, clearly out to pick a fight.

Everyone in the living room: “…”

Livestream chat: 【……】

The contrast was brutal.

Even the crew holding equipment cast Guo Yanpeng disdainful looks.

It felt like he was a bully abusing his influence, forcing a powerless celebrity to admit to some unjust accusation.

Guo Yanpeng’s face turned bright red with rage, his hand pointing at Lin Qianyu, but he couldn’t even squeeze out a single word.

Lin Qianyu wasn’t trying to play the victim—her health really was that bad. Seeing the situation, she even helpfully added, “It really was me who hit him.”

Guo Yanpeng drew a deep breath, but before he could speak, the director cut him off, “Enough! Whatever little scuffle you two had in private, let’s treat it as a joke. Once the livestream officially starts, I expect everyone to stay united, work together, and survive the unfamiliar rainforest as a team.”Maybe because he sensed that Guo Yanpeng was just looking for trouble, the director couldn’t be bothered to listen any further. He stood up and said, “Qianyu and Guo Yanpeng, you two turn on your livestream devices. If everything’s working, get ready to set off.”

Guo Yanpeng was still fuming, but An Lanqing gave his arm a tug out of view of the livestream camera and lightly shook her head with disapproval.

Ignoring their little exchange, Lin Qianyu had already gone to retrieve her equipment.

“Oh right, Qianyu, you haven’t picked your supplies yet. You can choose three items from the supply table over there,” the director said, handing her the standard mountaineering backpack prepared by the show.

He then pointed to a long table pushed against the wall and added, “But you’re a bit late. Supplies are limited, first come, first served. Everyone else has already picked—only you’re left.”

It seemed even the director thought the remaining supplies weren’t of much use.

Lin Qianyu didn’t mind and simply replied as she continued adjusting her livestream gear.

In the original storyline, the original host had planned to come down early to make breakfast for everyone. But some guests were already aware of the supply selection, so they arrived one after another even earlier.

Later, after Guo Yanpeng picked his supplies and handed them to An Lanqing, he went upstairs to cause trouble for the original host. Because of this delay, by the time she came downstairs, there was almost nothing left on the supply table.

Things like tents or sleeping bags weren’t even worth hoping for.

Lin Qianyu didn’t have many requirements for supplies, only that they could at least help her survive a bit more comfortably in the rainforest.

After scanning through the options, she picked a waterproof tarp, a machete, and… seasoning.

After all, food was one of the most important parts of surviving in the wild.

Maybe the show felt that just taking salt wasn’t enough to count as a full supply item, so the seasoning pack actually included a decent variety of spices and condiments.

Lin Qianyu tossed the selected supplies into her backpack.

“All set.”

“Alright,” the director nodded, waved his hand, and said, “Let’s head out!”
