Chapter 38

【Gentlemanly Little Bear!】

"Yeah." Lin Qianyu chuckled lightly and poked the felted wool tiger. "It's you."

In the surrounding darkness, Lin Qianyu could only see what was illuminated by her smartwatch. The felt tiger wasn’t exactly well-crafted.

After all, she didn’t have much to work with. Those beginner kits sold online usually came with rhinestones or beads in various colors. All Lin Qianyu had were the strands of fur shed from her furry companions at home.

Even the eyes and nose were created by felting different colored fur together. But this was actually safer—if she had used beads for decoration, it might have been dangerous if the animals accidentally swallowed them.

The already small felt tiger looked even more delicate compared to the real tiger’s paw.

Lin Qianyu moved her smartwatch closer. “Da Ju really likes this.”

【Likes what exactly?】

【I’m an SVIP, and I came into this livestream just to listen to riddles?!】

【Wuwuwu... Stop being so cryptic again!】

Lin Qianyu was just about to chat with the barrage of comments when she paused at that one. Had she mistakenly set the livestream to black screen?

Her thoughts froze for a moment. Then she suddenly realized—she looked up to find the streaming device.

It wasn’t there.

To help guests find the equipment easily even at night, the livestream device usually had a small red indicator light when on, and the casing was made of slightly glowing material.

Lin Qianyu looked at the big tiger now lying down and rubbing its nose against the felted toy, then glanced toward the tightly blocked cave entrance.

The streaming device hadn’t been brought inside.

“Be good, let’s go back out first.” Lin Qianyu rubbed the tiger’s head and casually picked up the felted figure from the ground.

The big tiger lifted its head along her hand, its eyes still fixed on the felted tiger. Only when Lin Qianyu nudged it again did it realize what she wanted and began to back out.

After successfully exiting the cave, the tiger stood guard nearby.

As soon as Lin Qianyu stepped out, the tiger nudged its head against her waist.

“Alright, alright. Here, let’s put it here.” Lin Qianyu placed the little felt tiger on a slightly higher rock. “Okay, go play.”

The tiger’s lowered tail swept the ground a few times, then it lay down in front of the felted toy.

【Ahhh! So cute!】

【Da Ju’s clear gaze looks so gentle! Like the kind that you can pet however you want, and it still won’t get mad.】

Lin Qianyu traced lazy loops with her fingers along the tiger’s back, smoothing its fur. She also felt that although Da Ju looked intimidating, it was actually incredibly patient and gentle.

The little chevrotain had already hidden itself in the cave the moment it sensed the tiger’s presence—especially when Lin Qianyu came in with the tiger’s scent on her as well, it felt like Lin Qianyu had been eaten.

The panicked chevrotain darted around and even pushed open the door by itself to squeeze inside.

Leaving Da Ju to play on its own, Lin Qianyu walked over to the few boxes stacked on the platform. Judging by the packaging, these weren’t supplies from the production team. She flipped through the small pamphlet on top and said, “These should be food rations for the little chevrotain. But… can it eat this much?”

Chevrotains occasionally ate some grass. Their appetite wasn’t big to begin with. With the grass factored in, this pile of rations would probably last until the little one reached adulthood.

Lin Qianyu took a photo. 【Are all of these for the little chevrotain?】Pei Feng: 【Send enough all at once. If it’s not enough, sending again and again is too troublesome. You can use the extra to feed other small animals. I’ve watched your stream—you often feed them along the way, right? Don’t use your own supplies for that.】

After all, Lin Qianyu was still participating in a program, and she was in competition with the other guests.

You could say that every bite she gave to another animal was a reduction in her own food supply. So since she had to send food for the little chevrotain anyway, might as well send more in one go.

Forest rangers who patrolled regular routes would, over time, get to know a few animals, but they were extremely wary—rarely eating the food offered to them. Occasionally, the braver ones might sneak back to eat it once the humans were gone.

But in Lin Qianyu’s livestream, not only could viewers see many small animals approach her, they could also watch her hand-feed them.

This time, the rescue station had sent food, and Lin Qianyu fed it out—so by extension, the viewers felt like they were participating in the feeding too.

Lin Qianyu opened the topmost box: it was filled to the brim with animal formula milk. Below that were meat-based snacks for teething animals, toys, and other items.

It was divided into several major categories.

There was no way to finish unboxing everything right away.

Lin Qianyu took out two large bags of formula. “It’s not feeding time yet, but I’ll mix some and let it cool first.”

Milk is filling, but for mature predators, only meat truly satisfies. Formula milk was more like a treat, something to taste for fun.

Boiling water with just one pot was too slow, so Lin Qianyu simply brought out all the usable pots from home and lit two more fire pits on the platform.

The basin she had bartered from the director earlier also came in handy. She poured formula into it and mixed it with boiling water.

“This milk smells so good,” Lin Qianyu said, unable to resist sniffing. “Smells kind of like sweetened milk.”

Some animals are lactose intolerant. The rangers were experienced in animal care, so the formula sent wasn’t cow’s milk powder. Still, formula in general tends to smell similar.

She ladled the formula into separate bowls to help it cool faster.

Once everything was prepared, the water in the pots on the fire was still bubbling, and the entire platform was filled with the rich aroma of milk.

The big tiger smelled it too. It walked over to Lin Qianyu, licked her hand, and got milk powder on its whiskers. It shook its fur, but couldn’t get it off, so it simply squinted and licked it off itself.

“It’s still hot, wait for it to cool before drinking.” Lin Qianyu tidied up the platform. While pouring the milk powder, some had inevitably spilled on the ground. She cleaned it up and arranged the prepared bowls of milk in a row.

“Roar…”

Lin Qianyu found an open spot nearby to sit and began waving her feather fan—cooling herself while also helping to cool the milk.

The big tiger had seen the red-tailed crested hawk before, so when it noticed the fan in Lin Qianyu’s hand—made with the hawk’s feathers and carrying its scent—it tilted its head curiously.

“You like this?” Lin Qianyu brought it closer for the tiger to sniff.

The tiger twitched its nose. As the tip of the fan brushed past, it backed away slightly, as if about to sneeze, eyes squinting and its whole face scrunched up.

Seeing this, Lin Qianyu burst out laughing. “Haha!”

Sitting cross-legged, her balance unsteady, Lin Qianyu laughed so hard she nearly toppled over backward.

The big tiger stepped forward and stood behind her.

Lin Qianyu had already stretched her hand out to steady herself, but when she noticed, she retracted it and simply slumped bonelessly against the big tiger.

In front of her was a row of steaming milk; behind her, the steady, reliable presence of the tiger.

As the sky gradually darkened, the air lost the midday humidity.Just leaning against it already felt rather cozy and content.

“I suspect fluffiness has a hypnotic effect,” Lin Qianyu said lazily while fanning herself. “Every time I lean on them, I get sleepy after just a short while. It definitely isn’t my fault.”

【What? Don’t think I don’t know—you slept just fine on your first day on the show even without anything fluffy!】

【Who can resist falling asleep when leaning against something that big and fluffy!】

【Forget about you leaning on it—I'm an insomniac, and even I end up dozing off just from watching your livestream!】

She had clearly already taken a nap in the afternoon.

But in this environment, Lin Qianyu couldn’t help yawning again.

Even the rhythm of her fanning slowed down.

Once the formula had cooled down enough, Lin Qianyu stood up and rubbed her face to shake off the drowsiness.

She turned and hugged the big tiger, assigning it a difficult task: “Keep watch for me, I’m going to feed the babies at home.”

The little chevrotain and the red-tailed crested hawk chick were both quiet as mice.

When Lin Qianyu walked into the cave, she didn’t even hear any chirping. “I’m here, little ones.”

“Chirp?”

“Yoo-yoo!?”

The little chevrotain, who had been looking up in the direction of the bird’s nest, turned to her in surprise. “Yoo!”

“Alright, no more playing. Time to eat first.” Lin Qianyu filled a bowl with the chevrotain’s special feed, placed it on the ground, and set the formula beside it.

The little chevrotain, used to eating grass, sniffed the formula repeatedly, but immediately took a big bite of its familiar feed.

Lin Qianyu had grabbed two full handfuls of feed, and the bowl was heaping. Who knows everything that was in it—she spotted fig, coral bean flowers, and many other freeze-dried bits. They crunched crisply when eaten.

Fresh food had to be delivered daily, or else it would wilt and rot since there was no fridge here.

Freeze-dried food was more convenient in that regard.

Once it started eating, the little chevrotain relaxed, and its tail swayed rhythmically behind it as it chewed.

Qiuqiu had long been peeking out from the bird’s nest, while Tuantuan and Diandian were wriggling and trying to climb out.

Lin Qianyu reached up and took the nest down. The moment she did, Diandian flapped its wings and leapt downward—but it misjudged the direction and fell toward the ground.

Thankfully, she reacted quickly and caught it in one hand, then gently placed it back into the nest.

The little bird, having nearly face-planted, felt a dizzying dip and lift, then blinked and found itself back in the nest.

Far from being scared, it shook its feathers excitedly, spread its wings, and tried to go again.

Lin Qianyu pushed it down with a single finger. “No. Not allowed.”

“Chirp!”

“Here, have some milk.” Lin Qianyu placed a small bowl into the corner of the nest, carefully wedging it into place against the edge so that it wouldn’t get knocked over while they drank. The red-tailed crested hawk isn’t lactose intolerant—it can even drink cow’s milk, so of course it can handle this highly nutritious formula too.

They just had to be careful with the amount, to avoid bloating from overfeeding.

Lin Qianyu didn’t prepare much in the bowl, so the three chicks definitely wouldn’t end up overstuffed.

The way the chicks drank was quite similar to how adult red-tailed crested hawks drank—pecking little by little, then tilting their heads back. They drank very slowly.

Even though there wasn’t much formula in the bowl, Lin Qianyu didn’t dare to just leave it there and walk out.

Even the shallowest water can drown someone.

Let alone a fledgling.

Lin Qianyu wiped her hands. “Looks like this formula tastes pretty good.”

They were drinking eagerly, and their movements were perfectly in sync—bowing their heads, lifting them again, all in uniform rhythm.

Lin Qianyu watched, a smile forming in her eyes. “I bet if I shouted a slogan right now, they’d follow it.”

【Aaaah! I declare these fluffy balls the cutest things in the world!】

【Three round fuzzy heads sitting in a row drinking milk—I’m going to die of cuteness.】

【Let Auntie give you a kiss! I wanna sit on them!】

【??? Girl, calm down.】

Over on the little chevrotain’s side, it had gotten used to the scent of formula after sniffing it for a while. Now it was happily alternating between bites of feed and sips of milk.

It even picked up every bit that had fallen to the ground while eating—carefully and thoroughly.

Clearly, it really liked it.

Lin Qianyu held a small snake on her fingertip, musing aloud, “Do snakes drink milk? I think I’ve seen someone use a syringe to feed them.”

Some people who keep snakes at home do feed them with syringes, but she hadn’t seen a snake drink on its own.

Just as she was thinking this, a sudden sharp chirp—short and urgent—was followed by a soft plop and silence.

“Eh?!” Lin Qianyu quickly reached out and pinched Qiuqiu by the nape, lifting it out of the milk bowl.

It had accidentally face-planted into a milk bath, and when she pulled it up, Qiuqiu still looked dazed.

Luckily, it had landed face-first rather than fully tipping over, so the feathers on its body remained clean.

Lin Qianyu held Qiuqiu in her arms, grabbed a towel from the nearby table, and started wiping it off.

Smelling the milk, Qiuqiu opened its beak again—it still seemed to be drinking.

Completely immersed in the formula experience.

The dry towel wasn’t enough, so Lin Qianyu dipped it in some water and wiped repeatedly. The short fluffy feathers clumped together, so she used her fingers and the damp towel to gently tease them apart and clean every last bit of formula off.

“There. All clean.” Lin Qianyu held the freshly cleaned chick away from herself for a look. Aside from still having damp feathers, it was spotless. Since it hadn’t been soaked in water, just wiped with a wet towel, it would dry off quickly.

When putting Qiuqiu back, she reminded it, “Be careful this time—don’t fall in again.”

Young birds drank milk very slowly. You couldn’t expect them to get full—they just sipped for the taste, one tiny bit at a time. And before they were full, they’d probably make themselves dizzy from wobbling around. So, there was still plenty of milk left in the bowl.

Qiuqiu wasn’t affected at all by the little incident—once placed back into the nest, it immediately resumed happily gobbling down its food.

Once they were all done eating, Lin Qianyu collected the empty bowl and put the fledglings on the ground to let them run around and play.

On her way out, she casually set the dirty bowl beside the stove. Both the door and the waterproof tarp were left open.

If the babies got bored indoors, they could come out anytime.

The tiger on the platform was still in the same position as when Lin Qianyu had gone inside, slowly licking its paw over and over.

Seeing this, Lin Qianyu lightened her steps and, before the big tiger could lick its paw again, she reached out and blocked it with her hand.

As a result, her hand got licked instead.

The big tiger paused, even squinting its eyes.

【Hahahaha—Tiger: Did I just lick my paw? Why didn’t it feel right?】

【Lin-jie almost fried my tiger bro’s CPU with that move.】

The tiger, realizing what had happened, didn’t react much. It simply withdrew the barbs on its tongue and licked the back of her hand again.

Lin Qianyu kept smiling, then flipped her hand to press down on the tiger’s head and gave it a few affectionate rubs. “Wait here a bit, I’ll go cut you some meat.”

She paused, slightly unsure, “You eat regular meat, right? I don’t have any organs here.”

Organs can’t be dried into jerky like muscle meat, plus they spoil easily due to the strong smell. If not well-seasoned, they’re hard to preserve.

But too many seasonings aren’t good for the fluffballs, so Lin Qianyu always separated the organs while cutting the meat, letting the fluffballs eat them on their own.

But this one here—this was a picky orange tabby in tiger’s clothing.

Would that regular meat be too bland for the big tiger?

Lin Qianyu thought for a moment, then pulled out some packaged meat snacks from the box. “How about trying this?”

She checked the ingredient list—looked very clean. It also used some kind of cutting-edge fresh-locking dehydration-free technology, allegedly even fresher than freshly cut meat.

“See,” Lin Qianyu pointed at the slogan on the package. “It says tigers and lions all love it.”

The big tiger looked at the text and nodded very cooperatively and seriously.

“Pfft… Hahaha, do you really understand what it says?” Lin Qianyu was amused to no end.

She tore open the packaging, and the distinctive smell of raw meat immediately spread out.

Lin Qianyu said, “Let’s try it first and see.”

The meat was individually packaged, and just opening them all to fill a bowl took her quite a while.

It was clear the tiger wasn’t very hungry.

Makes sense—if it were, the big tiger would’ve gone hunting by now instead of lounging here enjoying the breeze.

Even when it started eating, it did so very slowly, taking occasional bites. The meat snacks were all quite small. The big tiger could take a huge bite and barely needed to chew—just a couple of chomps and it would swallow them down effortlessly.

“This milk powder was sent from the rescue center. Did you drink this when you were little too?” Seeing it eating so dryly, Lin Qianyu pushed the cooled milk powder over to it.

“Roar…”

The tiger wasn’t particularly interested in the milk powder, or even in the meat snacks, really. But since Lin Qianyu gave them, it still slowly finished them all.

【That said, isn’t it kind of unfair to the other guests that the rescue center is sending both milk and meat?】

【Huh??? What are you talking about? Lin-jie didn’t eat any of it—it was all for the fluffballs! She didn’t even take a sip herself.】

【Exactly! Even the firewood was chopped by Lin-jie herself. No one paid her anything, okay?】

Some viewers in the livestream room raised objections about the supplies, but they were quickly drowned out by rational fans’ comments.

The tiger was still slowly licking up the milk powder. It caught a scent of something, raised its head, and looked into the distance—only to see the leopard leaping onto the platform with an antelope in its mouth.

Not long after, the black bear also appeared by the slope, dragging a wild boar, with the red-tailed crested goshawk perched on its back.

“You’re back!” Lin Qianyu stood up and moved the bowls on the ground aside to make space for their prey. “Come drink some milk—it’s just the right temperature now.”

“Roar…” The leopard casually tossed the antelope aside and immediately squeezed over to nuzzle against Lin Qianyu.

Lin Qianyu petted its fur a couple of times and coaxed, “Good boy.”

The black bear, exhausted from dragging such a big wild boar, flopped straight to the ground. The red-tailed crested goshawk had already flown off before the bear collapsed and went to find Lin Qianyu.

After setting out milk for the leopard, Lin Qianyu picked up another bowl and walked over to the little bear. “This bowl has honey in it. Sure you don’t want to try?”

The sweetened milk had an enormous appeal for the black bear.

“Rawr!”

“Rawr~?” Lin Qianyu mimicked its cry and chuckled as she handed over the bowl. “There’s more over there. You can have a bit extra.”

She had another bowl of plain milk in her hand. Holding it up with her palm, the red-tailed crested goshawk only had to dip its head slightly to drink from it.

Lin Qianyu’s gaze swept across the fluffballs all drinking milk so obediently. She switched the bowl to her left hand and raised her right hand high.

Then she took a few steps forward, stood in front of the pile of fluffballs, eyes curved with a bright smile, and called out, “This angle’s perfect—can someone take a screenshot for me?”

The livestream device didn’t have a built-in screenshot function. If someone wanted a specific shot, they’d have to go back through the replay and clip it themselves later.

That was too much trouble, so Lin Qianyu decided to ask for help from the viewers.

What the device couldn’t do, the fans certainly could.

Even when Lin Qianyu didn’t ask, fans were constantly taking screenshots—click, click, click, non-stop.

Now that she was asking for a specific frame, of course they went wild. Many had already snapped a whole series of images and shared them in the chat.

They turned out great.

She saved them all and planned to transfer the photos from her smartwatch to her phone later.

“Roar——!”

“Hm?” Hearing the tiger’s voice, Lin Qianyu turned around and saw that the tiger was already standing up, so she asked, “You heading out now?”She looked at the entrance to her cave, then at the massive tiger—such a huge size difference meant there was no way she could bring the tiger inside. She could only say helplessly, “Alright then, be safe. Remember to come play with me tomorrow.”

While stroking the tiger’s tail, Lin Qianyu reluctantly kissed its head. “Go on.”

As the tiger left, the little ones inside the cave began poking their heads out.

Maybe because the tiger’s scent still lingered outside, they didn’t come out—only the little chevrotain peeked out first to take a look.

【I’m so used to seeing my deer bro fearless and unstoppable—it’s so funny seeing it hiding in the cave now.】

【Hahaha when Da Ju was brought back, I was really afraid the little chevrotain would just ram right into it.】

【Baby animals peeking.JPG】

【Why’d she let Tiger Bro leave? I’ll be genuinely upset if Da Ju doesn’t stay the night.】

【I want Da Ju to stay too, but it can’t fit inside. Would you really let it sleep outside on the platform? Da Ju is a tiger with a whole mountain cave of its own!】

...

The felt tiger was adorable, but it was hard to carry around.

If the grip was too strong, such a small object might get crushed. If too weak, it might just fall without anyone noticing.

So it was left behind.

Lin Qianyu brought it back into the cave and placed it with the other felt animals.

She propped her chin with one hand and admired them. “I didn’t even realize I’ve already made so many.”

From slowly experimenting with colors in the beginning to gradually making them with practiced ease.

After adjusting the angles of the felt animals, Lin Qianyu headed out with a knife to cut some meat.

Since she had torn open so many meat snack packages, she let the animals eat those first.

“Look at these tusks.” Lin Qianyu pointed at the wild boar’s two sharp tusks. Compared to the pink fat pigs back home, wild boars were far more muscular—you could even see the muscle lines on their bodies.

These tusks gave them at least some fighting power when facing predators.

Wild boars couldn’t be underestimated in terms of combat ability.

But when faced with black bears or leopards, their fate was usually a desperate struggle followed by being eaten.

There were many kinds of antelope. Lin Qianyu only remembered the Tibetan gazelle, with its long and slender horns being especially distinctive.

She couldn’t tell what kind this one was, so she just treated it like ordinary prey. It’s not like she was the one eating it, anyway.

The law of the jungle—survival of the fittest—was a basic rule in the animal world. At most, it was a level-two protected animal eating a level-three one. Nothing could be done about it.

These meats weren’t like the buffalo, which was more than enough to eat. After dividing it among the few fluffballs, even the red-tailed crested goshawk chick got a small plate. There wasn’t much left after that.

“Alright, now let me see what I’m eating today.” After working for most of the day, Lin Qianyu was feeling a bit hungry herself, and turned to look for food in the outer area of the cave.

There was still plenty of cassava, so of course she had to bring it out as her main starch.

There was still a good amount of lard from last time. Lin Qianyu took some meat that hadn’t been eaten earlier and deep-fried it, then made a simple fruit version of sweet and sour pork. It had a sweet and savory flavor—not exactly like the recipes, but it tasted just fine.

She sliced up some leftover braised meat to make another plate. Two simple dishes. While biting into the sweet and sour pork, Lin Qianyu said, “If only I had starch or flour, I could coat the meat before frying it—then it’d be even crispier.”

This dish had to be eaten quickly before it got soggy. Once soaked in the sauce, the fried meat would lose its crispy texture.

As the water boiled, Lin Qianyu tossed in a few mint leaves and some chopped wild fruits, letting them cook until the color changed, then drizzled in some honey.

She stirred it with a spoon. The honey quickly dissolved in the hot water, and a sweet fruity fragrance filled the air. “This is more or less the same mix they use in drink shops.”

If she had ice, this would absolutely be an iced fruit tea—but in the rainforest, there was no way to make ice.

【I’ve never been in a livestream where I wanted everything the host brought out—felt crafts, food, fluffballs…】

【I’m not greedy. Host, just put yourself in the shopping cart—I’ll grab you in a second.】

...

After eating, the leopard, as usual, leaned against Lin Qianyu and groomed itself.

“Here, Huahua.” Lin Qianyu offered a piece of sweet and sour pork. “Ah—” Since the meat had seasoning, the animals could only have a tiny bit.

The leopard tasted it, licked its lips, and didn’t seem particularly impressed by the flavor.

“Little bear?”

“Aw!” The round fluffball waddled over, its semi-circular ears twitching—clearly, it had already smelled the sweet scent.

It thought it was candy, but when it bit down and realized it was meat—a different kind of sweet—its shiny black eyes lit up. “Mmm!”

Good!

“You like it, huh?” Lin Qianyu could tell from its reaction that this dish was right up the little bear’s alley.

“Aw!” The black bear leaned over her shoulder, stretching its head forward.

“This one has a lot of seasoning. Next time, I’ll make one for you with just salt and sugar.” Lin Qianyu picked out the biggest piece and bargained, “How about one more piece?”

“...Mmm?” The bear hesitated, like it was thinking, then suddenly lifted its head and roared, “Roar!”

Two!

“Two pieces? You can count?” Lin Qianyu burst into laughter and gave the bear’s paw pad a slap, saying solemnly, “Deal.”

The black bear had already eaten a big bowl of meat and was full. Wanting more sweet and sour pork was just because the flavor was unique—it just wanted to eat it.

Seeing the little bear so happy, Lin Qianyu patted the red-tailed crested goshawk on her shoulder. “Want to try some, little hawk?”

The tangy aroma of sweet and sour pork was strong. The goshawk nudged her cheek gently but showed no intention of eating it.

“Alright…” Knowing it didn’t like this flavor, Lin Qianyu opened a packet of freeze-dried meat bits and poured some into her palm. “Try this instead.”

“Chirp!”

Having fluffy companions at mealtime put Lin Qianyu in a great mood, and with good spirits came a good appetite—she even ate a few more bites of cassava.

“I wonder what Da Ju ate tonight.”

Pouring herself a bowl of fruit tea, she blew on it and took a sip. “If I have time, I’ll head further uphill and see if I can find a bigger cave.”

Staring at the moon that had unknowingly risen high above, Lin Qianyu murmured, “When Da Ju comes tomorrow, I’ll bring a portion of sweet and sour pork for him too.”After pausing, she bit into some wild fruit at the bottom of the bowl and said, “There’s also fruit tea.”

—Lin Qianyu kept thinking about the tiger.

That night, as she fell asleep, she thought if the tiger didn’t come to find her tomorrow, she would go to the tiger’s cave to look for Da Ju.

With that thought, she fell asleep. The next morning, as soon as she opened the door, the big tiger was already waiting outside.

Lying on a rock facing the direction of the sunlight, its tail lazily swayed over the edge of the stone.

It looked like it had been there for quite a while.

“Good morning, Da Ju!” The big tiger in the sunlight radiated a warm aura all over.

The tiger flicked its eyelids, “Roar—” as a reply to the greeting.

Lin Qianyu pounced forward, burying her face in the big tiger’s body. It was indeed warm and soft, and she wished she could sink into it completely—the joy of cuddling a cat was probably like this.

She smiled and asked, “We plan to go to the villa down the mountain. Do you want to come?”

The tiger had probably been to the villa area before but hadn’t shown up, maybe because there were too many strangers.

So whether or not to go, she still needed to ask Da Ju’s opinion.

Hearing this, the big tiger didn’t answer yes or no but directly jumped down from the rock and slightly bowed in front of her.

Lin Qianyu bent down, tilted her head to look into Da Ju’s eyes, “Are you saying you’ll take me there?”

“Roar!”

“Thank you, Da Ju, you’re so kind.” Lin Qianyu wrapped a thick layer of gauze around her ankle. She did this to prevent the injury from worsening and purposely made it thick so it would hinder her walking, forcing her to subconsciously avoid putting weight on that foot.

However… now that Da Ju was helping, she didn’t need to worry about putting weight on her ankle.

Lin Qianyu straddled the big tiger and turned her head to call out, “Little Bear, Huahua!”

“Aw!”

“Woof…”

The fluffy ones just woke up, shook their fur, and slowly walked over.

Lin Qianyu waved toward the bird’s nest, “Little Hawk?”

“—Chirp!” The young bird hidden in the nest peeked out as the red-tailed crested goshawk flapped its wings and flew out, landing steadily on her arm.

Lin Qianyu waved her hand, “Let’s head to the villa!”

【So energetic this early in the morning.】

【Hahaha, what a vibe. Are they planning to rob the director?】

【Mission time soon: Little Hawk on air patrol, Huahua and Little Bear blocking the door, Da Ju and Sister Lin break in through the second-floor window.】

【Director: Yes yes yes, just follow this plan. You guys play and don’t worry about me at all.】

Robbing was impossible.

Lin Qianyu was going to pick up the supplies exchanged for meat last time, with an exact quota. That huge pile of meat could be exchanged for a lot of supplies with the director.

But Lin Qianyu wasn’t interested in any of the items on the list. After replenishing some simple basic seasonings, there was still a lot left to exchange.

The quota couldn’t be extended to the next episode and could only be used during the current live stream.

If Lin Qianyu didn’t exchange anything, the quota would be wasted after the show ended.

After thinking it over, Lin Qianyu simply chose clothes.

However, clothes weren’t on the list; whatever she wanted had to be selected on-site.

Speaking of the villa, there was no need to guide Da Ju; the big tiger could find the way and lead Lin Qianyu there on its own.

Usually, the director arranged a car to travel between the villa and the rainforest.

But this time, with so many furry companions coming along, the director’s cars didn’t seem big enough.

Vehicles that were too large also wouldn’t move well inside the rainforest.

Going there on their own was simpler.

Fortunately, they left early today. After reaching the foot of the mountain, Da Ju slowly accelerated to a run.

It wasn’t a full-speed sprint where the wind whistles by the ears, but a consciously controlled speed.

Lin Qianyu didn’t need to lean forward or lower her upper body; she could sit steadily on the tiger’s back.

Pressing her palm on the soft fur, Lin Qianyu suddenly asked, “Do you want to feel what Da Ju’s full-speed run feels like?”

Without even opening the chat box, the words “Want” and exclamation marks had already filled the screen.

Lin Qianyu curled her lips, leaned down, and hugged the tiger’s neck, “Da Ju, let’s go!”

“Roar—!”

A deafening tiger roar sounded, and before the sound fully faded, Da Ju suddenly sped up.

The leopard also exerted force at the same time. The black bear, who wasn’t good at running, looked confused. Seeing everyone else running, it chased after them from behind.

Lin Qianyu tightened her arms around the tiger’s neck again and again.

Her hair scattered over her shoulders was lifted by the wind. The speed was extremely fast yet still stable. Lin Qianyu didn’t feel a single bump.

“Feels like riding a high-speed train.” After a pause, hindered by the wind in her ears and not hearing herself well, Lin Qianyu instinctively raised her voice and shouted, “The open-top kind.”

【Ahhhh?! Don’t sit first, let me sit!】

【Help—running tiger is so handsome! Huahua is so cool, the running leopard is stunning, Little Bear, Little Bear is running so hard.】

【Hahaha, come on! Kids focus on strength, not speed!】

【Stop chatting, stop chatting. Someone get Sister Lin down, the live equipment can’t keep up!】

After the momentary excitement, the live audience belatedly realized something was wrong.

—Why was the view getting wider and farther?

The live equipment struggled desperately behind to catch up, but still couldn’t close the distance to Lin Qianyu. It was even barely able to capture the black bear’s silhouette anymore!Among the animals good at running, the black bear’s speed was a weak point, but compared to artificial intelligence, it was still far faster.

Led by Da Ju, they sprinted all the way until a leap cleared the outer wall of the villa, landing steadily inside the yard.

Lin Qianyu swayed a bit, reached up to tidy her hair disturbed by the wind, propped herself up, and slowly exhaled, “How was it? Fast enough?”

Who is she asking?

Seeing everyone’s strange reactions, Lin Qianyu asked suspiciously, “What’s wrong?”

Turning around, she realized the live streaming equipment drifting behind was gone again.

Lin Qianyu blinked, “Uh, did it fall off?”

When did it happen?

She waved her hand, “It’s fine, just consider it a test of the live streaming equipment’s flight speed.”

Not really a bad thing.

Without waiting for the streaming equipment to catch up slowly, Lin Qianyu first went to the villa’s front door and pressed the doorbell. “Director Su, I’m here to pick out clothes.”

Before coming, she had contacted the director to confirm he wasn’t out filming on location and was still at the villa, so she came over.

Although the time in the rainforest was fairly relaxed, the villa was still somewhat far away, so making a wasted trip would be a bit of a time loss.

Su Yuxing’s voice came through the visual doorbell, “Are you here to pick clothes, or to snatch clothes?”

Lin Qianyu: “???”

Glancing at the furry line-up behind her, Lin Qianyu cleared her throat lightly, “Of course I’m here to get clothes. I’m a good person.”

Su Yuxing paused, feeling like he almost bowed his head to the words ‘bandit chief’, “…No entry!”

Lin Qianyu hesitated a moment, politely asked, “May I kick the door open then?”

Click The door was opened from inside, and Su Yuxing stood to one side with a gentlemanly manner, extending his hand, “Please come in.”

Lin Qianyu nodded in thanks, “Thank you.”

The leopard followed behind her, the black bear came in last slowly.

However... the tiger was a bit too big to enter through the front door.

Lin Qianyu paused, “How about we bring the clothes outside to choose?”

While thinking, the tiger seemed to realize what Lin Qianyu was worried about, stepped back two paces, and lightly jumped directly onto the second-floor terrace, entering through one of the terrace doors.

It looked like it was well practiced, as if it had done it several times.

Su Yuxing showed no expression.

He thought to himself, he now understood how that comb went missing.

“I’ll take you to the walk-in closet.” There was only Su Yuxing in the whole villa, not even an assistant left.

Everyone else had proactively requested to be on field duty when they knew Lin Qianyu was coming. The walk-in closet held clothes prepared for all the guests.

When Su Yuxing opened the door, he didn’t forget to emphasize again, “All the guests’ clothes are provided free by the production team. You can just take whichever you want. They don’t count as exchanges or consume points. Are you sure you want to use your exchange quota for this? It feels a bit wasteful.”

Not just Lin Qianyu, even Su Yuxing felt it wasn’t worth using the quota to exchange for something you could get for free.

“Sure.” Lin Qianyu didn’t think so. She walked into the closet without even looking at the fancy clothes and went straight to the display cabinet. “I don’t lack anything, but some things I can’t make myself. I’ll pick some small gifts or something.”

She took out a white collar with several translucent diamonds of different sizes embroidered on the edge, then turned and held it up in front of the black bear. “Doesn’t this look nice?”

The black bear sensed something but when it lowered its head, it couldn’t see anything, tilting its head in puzzlement: “Woo?”

“It’s a white bow tie.” Lin Qianyu waved the bow tie in front of the little bear’s eyes, then gently brushed its fur and fastened the bow tie’s strap around its neck.

“Woo!”

The little bear raised its head, and Lin Qianyu kissed it lightly, “Fits perfectly.”

The black bear fiddled with the bow tie on its neck using its paw pads, apparently liking it too.

【Gentleman little bear!】

【Woo woo, little bear invites me to dance the first dance at tonight’s banquet.】

Then Lin Qianyu picked up a necklace. “I had my eye on this necklace when choosing clothes earlier.”

But since she would be active in the rainforest, she mostly chose shirts and shorts, which didn’t match this pure silver gem necklace.

The leopard squatted in front of her, and Lin Qianyu could easily wrap her hand around the leopard’s neck. Putting the necklace on the leopard wouldn’t be hidden in thick fur. The light, dazzling silver chain complemented the unique pattern of the leopard’s coat perfectly.

Lin Qianyu curved her eyes and gently stroked the leopard’s ears, “Good boy.”

The leopard raised its head and rubbed against her palm, “Roar!”

Using meat hunted by the furry animals to exchange gifts for the furry animals themselves was very reasonable.

Even though there were many types of accessories and several cabinets full of them,

not many suited the small animals. They couldn’t make noise, or it would affect hunting.

Nor could they interfere with movement, like lifting legs or running.

They were purely decorative.

With these conditions, choosing became a lot more complicated.

“Little Hawk usually flies around when hunting, so it’s not good to wear complicated accessories…” Lin Qianyu took out several items from the cabinet, planning to try them all on the red-tailed hawk. She chose carefully.

The next moment, she felt a weight on her head; the jeweled edge of a crown draped down from her forehead, tassels flickering in front of her eyes.

“Chirp—!”

Sparkling!

Lin Qianyu looked up blankly: “?”

Hmm? What?
