Chapter 10

【What’s the mirror woman doing?】

【Judging by the look of it, she’s probably trying to possess the streamer’s body, right?】

【Pfft, but she can’t do it. It’s really hilarious, especially with the streamer’s expression—"Beauty speechless.jpg".】

After the intense back-and-forth between Shi Jian and the butler Tang, the viewer count in Shi Jian’s personal livestream surged once again, with many becoming regular watchers.

Regular viewers: Shi Jian is exactly our cup of tea!

Not only do they get to admire a beautiful female celebrity, but they also get to enjoy her chaotic antics—double the joy, double the thrill.

Shi Jian quietly watched the mirror woman go crazy for a while. Though she disliked clout-chasing nobodies, she couldn’t help but comment, “Your head’s… pretty impact-resistant, huh.”

As expected of a non-human creature.

After hearing that, the mirror woman bared her teeth and screamed, “Aaaahhhh!”

She smashed her head even harder, hair flying everywhere.

Shi Jian, now certain that the mirror woman truly couldn’t harm her, grew even calmer. She felt the mirror woman’s actions were just "all bark and no bite."

When the mirror woman had thrown out threats earlier, Shi Jian had thought she’d do something dramatic.

Is this it?

At this point, the mirror woman’s behavior could only be described as: “powerless rage.”

After finishing her critique with a shake of her head, Shi Jian turned and left the bathroom with a noble and aloof air, leaving the mirror woman to rage alone.

After "Ugly Merch" and "Washed-up Nobody Clout-chasing Plastic Surgery Freak," the mirror woman earned a brand new title—

Powerless Rage.

The dropping room temperature was an urgent issue that had to be resolved.

Shi Jian hadn’t noticed it while staying in her luxury suite on the second floor, but Li Anle gave an update.

“It’s getting colder at night. We can stay in the corridor or living room before midnight, but after that the temperature inside drops really low. I was shivering even under the blanket. I’m worried…”

Li Anle didn’t finish her sentence, but everyone knew what she meant.

Worried that if this continued, they might just freeze to death.

Zhang Dong voiced his idea, “What if we burn something at night?”

Using the most traditional method—fire—to stay warm.

The rooms were getting cold, and blankets weren’t enough. They had to raise the entire room’s temperature, and fire was the only way.

Even though the rooms leaked when it rained, there were still spots where the rain didn’t reach. Small as they were, there was enough space for a fire.

“What do we burn?” someone asked.

Shi Jian thought this was very doable. The drafts might actually be a good thing—they could help prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

Without much thought, she blurted out, “Whatever’s in the room, just burn it.”Shi Jian looked around the room—there was actually quite a lot of stuff in it.

Everyone else: ??? What kind of husky-level home-wrecking behavior is this?

Of course, the proposal did face some opposition. Mainly out of fear: “If we do this, won’t the butler say something? Or could it trigger some other death condition?”

Was it really okay to burn the castle’s furniture?

Honestly, if the situation hadn’t gotten this severe, Zhang Dong wouldn’t have made such a suggestion. Shi Jian picked up on his cue, “What else do you propose?”

“Just wait around and freeze to death?”

They were practically freezing already—who cared about the rules anymore?

Shi Jian reassured everyone, “Don’t worry, I’ll handle the butler Tang. Let me argue—I mean, explain.”

That said, whether the streamers on-site or the viewers in the livestream, everyone clearly caught that last word.

After some discussion, the group unanimously agreed to the plan of burning furniture for warmth.

The heating problem was temporarily resolved quite nicely, and Shi Jian also discovered mung bean sprouts and garlic sprouts had appeared in their food supply.

Shi Jian was surprised. “Where did these come from?”

No one dared eat the ready-made “food” provided in Rose Castle. A while back, Shi Jian had arranged eggs for everyone, and later they unlocked lettuce. But mung bean sprouts and garlic sprouts hadn’t been unlocked.

Shi Jian clearly remembered Butler Tang saying that the only available vegetable was lettuce—and even that was limited in supply.

She’d complained about it plenty at the time.

Now the butler had grown a conscience?

The painter smiled and told Shi Jian, “We grew them.”

The male university student—Shi Jian’s cheap little cousin—brought over two pots. One was full of crisp, fresh mung bean sprouts, the other with vibrant, green garlic sprouts. Both were growing well.

He said, “Just eating lettuce was too bland, so we tried asking Butler Tang for some seeds. Didn’t expect he actually gave them to us… So we planted them. Oh right, I’m an agriculture student.”

“If it weren’t for all the rain and overcast weather here, with barely any sunshine, the veggies could’ve grown even better.”

There was even a hint of regret in the student’s voice. Lately, with full bellies and no new dangers, his nerves had relaxed quite a bit.

Shi Jian stared at the two pots of vegetables for a while, then gave her approval. “It’s already very impressive.”

This was completely beyond her expectations—people were actually growing vegetables inside Rose Castle?

Should she say—even if they weren’t from the same plane of existence, they still shared that same farming gene deep in their bones?

Everyone’s enthusiasm for growing vegetables was on fire. After all, they couldn’t leave, and there wasn’t much else to do. By the time Butler Tang noticed, Rose Castle had already turned into a vegetable garden.

Butler Tang was dumbfounded at the sight before him.

Rows upon rows of garlic sprouts were neatly lined up on the windowsills. Since the sunlight was a bit better there, the garlic sprouts had not disappointed—standing tall and proud, nearly blocking the rose stickers with eyeballs on the windows. The mung bean sprouts were placed along the walls, growing fat and pale.

Not only were garlic sprouts planted in bowls and pots, but even vases had been repurposed for them. Everyone had gotten so enthusiastic about planting that, lacking containers, they had no choice but to use the vases.

Rose Castle had originally carried the fragrance of roses, but now, as Butler Tang sniffed the air, he couldn’t help feeling there was a lingering scent of garlic sprouts.Lingering and pervasive.

Butler Tang’s expression was grim. “What is going on here?”

Shi Jian came out to argue—compared to the furious Butler Tang, she seemed utterly nonchalant.

“Oh, these? I like eating them.”

“When your master comes back, you can make them for him too. He’ll definitely be pleasantly surprised.”

The livestream bullet comments were exploding with laughter: Are you sure it won’t be a shock instead?

The castle turning into a vegetable garden—who could possibly be pleasantly surprised?

Butler Tang naturally also noticed that many rooms showed signs of burning. Some furniture was missing, and the guest rooms were becoming increasingly empty.

Shi Jian remained completely unfazed. “Minimalist style—declutter and detach.”

“This is trendy now. Most of the time, people don’t need that many things. Too much decoration just makes it feel cramped… I wanted to do a little makeover. Your master won’t be mad. He loves me that much.”

Shi Jian pulled out her ultimate move—egging on Butler Tang.

“Or, you could call him and ask?”

Butler Tang: “……”

The veins on his neck bulged, and his pupils turned orange again, even streaked with blood.

From rage.

His whole body radiated a murderous aura, like he wanted to rip Shi Jian to pieces and chew her into pulp—but in the end, he did nothing. Not because he didn’t want to, but because Shi Jian’s actions were technically justified and valid.

【Shi Jian is god-tier!】

【Lollipop ×1】

【Rocket ×1】

Zhang Dong, having witnessed everything, started interacting with his own livestream viewers.

“Boss Shi is seriously too powerful.”

“I didn’t understand before—why she said she was ‘looking for death.’ Now I get it. Turns out ‘looking for death’ was an abbreviation for: Looking for Butler Tang—to make him die.”

“Boss Shi is deliberately provoking Butler Tang—to kill him!”

Just look at how pissed off she made Butler Tang.

Zhang Dong felt that, given time, Shi Jian would definitely unlock the achievement of infuriating Butler Tang to death!

Zhang Dong had an epiphany.

Shi Jian, passing by and overhearing Zhang Dong’s nonsense: “……”

No, that’s way overanalyzing. At that time, she meant it literally—she was looking to die.

Of course, Shi Jian knew that even if she explained it, Zhang Dong wouldn’t believe her. Besides, she didn’t want to bring it up. She had her pride.Courting death isn’t exactly something to be proud of.

So just let Zhang Dong run with it.

The people in Rose Castle welcomed a relatively peaceful and comfortable period.

To save her own life, Li Anle “claimed kinship” with Shi Jian and became her makeup artist. She actually styled Shi Jian, too.

Shi Jian hadn’t planned to have anyone serve her, but Li Anle had her own reasoning.

“Well, we’re idle anyway. I like tidying up pretty girls—it’s like playing with Barbie dolls when I was little.” Li Anle was eager to try; she genuinely wanted to create.

Shi Jian: Fine then.

Give it a shot.

Turns out Li Anle’s skills weren’t bad. Since arriving at Rose Castle, Shi Jian had always worn her hair down. It looked good, sure—but Li Anle put her hair up in an elegant bun, and when Shi Jian walked down the grand staircase of the castle, she looked just like a fairytale princess.

Her stunning, vivid face was fully revealed, her aura overwhelming, her charm irresistible.

Li Anle was on the verge of tears—what had she done to deserve the honor of styling such a beauty?

Everyone praised Shi Jian. She looked at herself in the mirror and was quite satisfied too. She curiously asked Li Anle, “Were you in this line of work before?”

She had a sense Li Anle had some foundation.

Li Anle looked a bit embarrassed. “Sort of… tangentially?”

“But I used to do grooming for pets.”

Shi Jian: ???

Having transformed from pet groomer to celebrity stylist, Li Anle’s creative impulses were in overdrive upon seeing Shi Jian’s face.

She mumbled to herself:

“If only we had a crown.”

Then she’d truly be a runaway princess!

“Is there any makeup around here?”

Following her usual rule—if there’s a problem, ask Butler Tang—Shi Jian turned to the butler.

Are there any cosmetics?

And now that she was well-fed and safe for the time being, Shi Jian was getting restless too—she wanted to wear pretty little dresses!

Lately, all she had to wear were pajamas.

Now thoroughly stripped of dignity, Butler Tang squeezed out a reply from between his teeth: “…No. There’s no mistress in the castle, so there are no women’s clothes prepared.”

Naturally, no cosmetics either!

There’s nowhere to buy them—stop asking!

The original concept artist, now Shi Jian’s stylist, offered a suggestion: “The curtains in the castle are pretty. I’m decent at sewing—how about I make you a gown out of them?”The makeup artist was in position, and the stylist was ready too.

Some were tending to vegetables, others were dressing up Shi Jian—Rose Castle was filled with a lively, joyful atmosphere.

Except for Butler Tang, who looked like he was suffering from constipation.

【??? What’s going on? I just joined the stream—am I watching a horror game stream or a life simulation game? I came here for high-tension horror content… Is the platform pushing their lover or daughter?】

【Damn, I’m stunned too. Sure, the rookie dungeon isn’t that hard, but farming and dressing up? Isn’t that a bit much? Where’s the danger in this?】

New viewers entering the stream were swearing up a storm, convinced the content was watered down and clearly rigged.

Long-time viewers swore, 【It really was dangerous before—seriously!】

But thanks to Shi Jian’s presence, what used to be a weak, helpless rookie streamer vs. a creepy, grim Butler Tang quickly turned into a spoiled, dramatic celebrity vs. her long-suffering servant.

Everyone sat around the dining table, chatting and laughing. The male college student, ears red, half-squatted beside the female lead to show her a flower he had grown.

“It’s a wildflower, must’ve gotten mixed into the vegetable seeds. I saw it looked pretty, so I wanted to show you…”

The wildflower really was lovely—small, with purple petals.

Shi Jian looked at the flower and nodded, giving face. “It’s pretty.”

The male college student lit up with surprise, then summoned his courage. “Shi Jian, do you like it? If you do, I’ll—”

Zhang Dong and the others all instantly understood—if a younger guy doesn’t call her “sister,” he probably has feelings for her. They hadn’t expected him to be this bold about it, though.

Before the male student could finish his sentence, a terrified scream rang out from not far away—“Help!”

Shi Jian’s expression changed. She stood up and exchanged a glance with Zhang Dong.

“It’s Li Anle!”
