Chapter 6

In both Shi Jian's and Zhang Dong's livestream rooms, a string of exclamation marks appeared.

Zhang Dong was still urging Shi Jian to come down quickly and discuss things, but Shi Jian insisted her decision was made.

She waved her hand at Zhang Dong without looking back and continued down the stairs, soon disappearing from his sight.

Zhang Dong wanted to chase after her, but remembering that Steward Tang had come down from upstairs, where the biggest boss's lair was, he hesitated and didn't dare step onto the stairs.

A young girl with an apple-shaped face came out and saw Zhang Dong staring at the upper floor. She asked in surprise, "Zhang Ge, what's wrong?"

Zhang Dong replied, "…Shi Jian went upstairs."

Both of them fell silent, their eyes reflecting a sense of loss.

Shi Jian was probably doomed.

...

Shi Jian's solo action was like the cannon fodder female character in a horror movie, but she did have her own thoughts.

She had given up.

She couldn't escape anyway, so why not let herself die like this, at least dying at a relatively good moment.

A person can live for 21 days without food, only drinking water, but after a while, they would definitely look worse and worse. Shi Jian couldn’t bear to look unattractive, and rather than die nervously and ugly, she thought it would be more straightforward this way.

Aside from this reason, another thing that prompted Shi Jian to go upstairs was that after the fashion girl was eaten, there was only her left in the room.

Shi Jian didn't have any emotional ties to the fashion girl, but the sight of a person who was alive just yesterday suddenly gone made her close her eyes and imagine how she must have been devoured.

She didn't want to stay in that room anymore, so she decided to go upstairs and see if there were any other rooms.

Shi Jian had already entered the second floor. If the first floor still had some people, the second floor was eerily quiet. However, the decoration seemed more luxurious.

There were many oil paintings on the walls. Shi Jian didn't know how to appreciate them, but she could tell they were probably not cheap. Besides the paintings, there were also some vases and other artworks in the corridor.

Shi Jian had imagined that she might be eaten by Steward Tang as soon as she came up or that there might be other terrifying unknown creatures, but after wandering the corridor for a while, everything was calm and nothing happened.

Finally, Shi Jian opened a door. It seemed to be another guest room, and the door wasn’t locked. When she opened it, she couldn't help but mentally exclaim, "Wow!"

The room was spacious. The most prominent feature was a soft, comfortable double bed with a high-quality duvet that looked plush. The bed even had a regal-looking white sheer canopy...

It was a hundred times better than the guest room on the first floor!

This was Shi Jian's dream room.

It could rival the standards of five-star hotels she had stayed in before.

Shi Jian’s pillow was almost excessive, and she quickly made up her mind—

She would die here tonight.

...

The next day, everyone was gathered at the dining table again to look at the inedible breakfast, and everyone, including Steward Tang, noticed that someone was missing again.

Although they came from different worlds and didn't know the famous celebrity Shi Jian, it was hard to forget someone with her looks.

Now that Shi Jian wasn't at the restaurant, it signified that something had happened.Zhang Dong had previously held onto a glimmer of hope—what if, just maybe, Shi Jian was fine? But at this moment, everything had been confirmed.

He felt his mental support collapse, and the biggest players on-site had all perished.

Zhang Dong muttered under his breath, only loud enough for himself to hear, "I shouldn’t have been greedy for points. I didn’t expect this dungeon to be so unclear…"

Now, Zhang Dong's only thought was regret. Had he known it would turn out this way, he would never have become this rookie guide. Maybe if they had another stronger guide, things might have been handled differently, and not so many people would have died.

The apple-faced girl lowered her head, her eyes reddened. She felt very sad. She had a good impression of Shi Jian. That night, when the temperature dropped, it was Shi Jian who first grabbed the blanket and stepped out of the room.

The apple-faced girl felt like she might be the next to go.

Another person had passed away, and most people turned their gaze toward Steward Tang, their eyes filled with anger, but they dared not speak out, fearing his power.

Steward Tang, who was being glared at, didn’t indulge in any new snacks.

In just one day, his body had gone from barrel-shaped back to a lean figure, as he had already digested the fashion girl.

As for the missing person, Steward Tang didn’t delve into the matter.

Disappearing in Rose Castle was easier than anything.

His orange-yellow eyes narrowed, and he smirked, imagining Shi Jian’s death scene with malicious delight.

—The little snack’s heart, her brain pierced cruelly by the thorns of the roses. She wasn’t dead yet, watching her blood be drained by the vines, and finally, in the agony and cold, she lost her breath. The roses clinging to the window would grow even more vibrant with her blood…

"Thump—thump—thump—"

The footsteps weren’t heavy at all, as the person wore disposable cotton slippers, and the carpet muffled any disruptive noise, but it was enough to interrupt Steward Tang’s pleasant imagination.

A woman in a black silk robe appeared in everyone's sight.

It was none other than Shi Jian.

Steward Tang: "..."

The others: "..."

Silence fell over Rose Castle this morning.

Shi Jian, however, wasn’t fazed by being stared at. It was normal for people to stare at her. Still, she felt the need to say something.

So she spoke up, "Sorry, I overslept."

The room was too comfortable, the bedding too soft. Even a celebrity who was usually good at managing time could sometimes sleep in.

"You’re not dead?"

Someone blurted out in surprise.

Steward Tang: She’s not dead?!

Shi Jian furrowed her brows, "Who’s saying I’m dead?"

Zhang Dong and the apple-faced girl simultaneously shook their heads: It had nothing to do with them!

...

Shi Jian had gone upstairs and was now standing here, perfectly fine. Zhang Dong wasn’t just happy, he was curious, "What’s going on upstairs? What happened?"Was the big shot kicked by the big-eyed boss and punched by Steward Tang, only to stand here unscathed?

Shi Jian thought for a moment and truthfully replied, "Nothing happened."

Zhang Dong was stunned, "Huh?"

Yes, nothing happened, and even Shi Jian found it hard to believe.

In the luxurious suite on the second floor, not only was there no wind, rain, or hail coming through at night, but after midnight, Shi Jian was waiting for Steward Tang to come upstairs to eat her. She had already posed in a beautiful position, but after an hour or two, Steward Tang still hadn’t come in.

Shi Jian waited and waited, eventually falling asleep.

The room was warm and dry, the bed soft and springy, and it felt as if she had returned to a time before she entered this cursed live-stream game. She had a peaceful, high-quality sleep, and by the time she woke up, it was already time for the meeting.

[The streamer is so lucky!]

[Take back what I said about the streamer being unlucky. She wasn’t eaten after midnight in the previous room. Is she the European Emperor?]

[It seems like Steward Tang didn’t expect anyone to sleep on the second floor, but now that it’s been exposed, things might be bad...]

Shi Jian voiced her guess, "Steward Tang probably didn’t know I went upstairs. He’ll probably come to check the rooms tonight."

Zhang Dong followed this line of thought, "Don’t go to the second floor tonight."

Shi Jian replied, "I’m still staying on the second floor tonight."

In unison.

Zhang Dong: ??? What are you saying?

You know there’s a tiger on the mountain, yet you still go up the mountain?

...

Zhang Dong led everyone as they continued trying to leave Rose Castle. The key to clearing the dungeon was the castle owner, but the owner hadn’t shown up yet, and they couldn’t get in touch with him at all.

Zhang Dong, bold as ever, tried to indirectly get information from Steward Tang, but when it came to the question of when the owner would return, Steward Tang acted clueless.

He knew nothing.

And they couldn’t reach him either.

It was another fruitless day, and Shi Jian accepted it all. She seemed to have lost much of her fear now. That evening, despite everyone’s objections, after the meeting, she still rushed to the second-floor room.

As for her move to the second floor, Steward Tang didn’t comment on it in the morning, but both the people in the castle and the viewers in the live stream were certain:

Shi Jian had been targeted.

Her time was running out.

Shi Jian, lying sideways on the soft bed, her hands crossed beside her, her thick, smooth long hair scattered on the pillow, looked casual, but in reality, everything was meticulously planned, a result of many careful thoughts.

Her left side was exposed, a vibrant rose tucked behind her ear, the red petals contrasting against her snow-white skin, her lips red, teeth white, and her brows and eyes like a painting.

Her long, curled eyelashes fluttered gently, making her look like she was in a commercial photoshoot.

At midnight, the clock chimed twelve, and her door creaked open.

The person seemed to have been waiting impatiently for this moment. The Steward Tang who entered no longer pretended; he had completely lost any semblance of a human figure.

His neck stretched long, and his orange-yellow eyes were filled with the excitement of a predator. His mouth cracked open, saliva flowing out in abundance, while muttering, "Who wasn’t in their room at midnight?"

"So it’s my little snack."

"What a fragrant little snack."

Steward Tang even struck a pose of enjoyment and sniffed the air.

Shi Jian’s live stream room saw a surge in viewers, surpassing 5,000, which was considered a miracle for a new streamer. After all, new dungeons didn’t have that much traffic.

The reason for such a remarkable result was twofold: first, Shi Jian’s looks were outstanding, and second, she had gotten herself into this much danger, which likely meant her end was near.

It was probably her last image.

Not only did Shi Jian’s personal live stream room have 5,000 viewers watching the entire process, but the public channel’s viewers were also witnessing everything.

The audience clearly saw that when Steward Tang, excited to the point of salivating, laid his eyes on the rose in Shi Jian’s hair, he momentarily froze.

[Where did that rose come from?]

Other viewers were also curious.

The answer came quickly, [I know, the streamer picked it from the table.]

The viewers who had been following Shi Jian’s live stream witnessed her carefully selecting the most beautiful rose from the table to decorate herself with.

There were fresh roses placed on the dining table every day.

Shi Jian made full use of what was available.

Steward Tang: "…"

His face changed again and again, but in the end, he snorted coldly, dismissing these trivialities, and walked toward Shi Jian on the bed.

Dinner was served.

...

Shi Jian could feel Steward Tang getting closer. She nervously opened her eyes. Even though she had prepared herself, she was still frightened by the monster before her.

Damn it, this is too much for the heart!

Shi Jian knew the live stream viewers were watching. She really did look beautiful right now, so she focused on managing her expression and controlling her body to prevent herself from screaming or begging for mercy. But she couldn’t help muttering to herself.

It was as if through her muttering, she could push her fear out of her mind.

Shi Jian closed her eyes, her little mouth chattering, "Did you brush your teeth? Why are you so disgusting?"

What kind of monster is this, and why is the saliva so gross?

Shi Jian didn’t forget to make a deal, negotiating, "Can you just swallow me whole, from head to toe…"

After all, half of her body was exposed, and she couldn’t guarantee that her expression wouldn’t break down.

It would take a complete face freeze to remain calm when faced with something so terrifying.

Steward Tang: "…You’re so noisy."He had already reached the head of the bed and reached out to pinch Shi Jian’s face, wanting to see her panicked expression. His favorite thing was to watch his food fearfully and then eat a little more.

Like a little pre-meal show.

[Ahhhh, help, I can’t watch!]

The timid people in the livestream room were already covering their eyes. The next moment, a slap “smack” sounded sharply, hitting Steward Tang’s hand hard, followed by a kick to his lower regions.

A deadly strike.

Shi Jian, who had been trembling and waiting to die just moments ago, bounced up from the bed, furious, scolding Steward Tang.

“Don’t touch me! Change your position! My left side looks better on camera than my right side!”
