Chapter 68
Being complained about once by a dungeon ghost would not send you to the tribunal room.
But Shijian had been complained about five times already; this was the sixth.
Such a high frequency of complaints drew a lot of attention to Shijian. Now, as a streamer who had been complained about six times, Shijian appeared in the tribunal room.
Even though Shijian activated battle mode and actively wanted to leave, upon hearing that besides being complained about by Doctor Feng, she had also been complained about by five different ghosts, she still felt the situation was ridiculous and felt a moment of guilt.
Of course, the latter lasted only half a second.
Shijian thought: They’re trying so hard to get me killed, why should I feel guilty?
She had only passed a few dungeons—were there really six?
Shijian couldn’t help but ask, "Besides this one, who else complained about me?"
There was always a tricky ghost trying to harm the big star; Shijian wanted to see which one it was.
The uniformed man fell silent. Was she trying to retaliate with this question?
“Sorry, it’s inconvenient to disclose information unrelated to this complaint.”
Shijian didn’t get the list of complaining ghosts, but she did receive some relatively reassuring information.
The uniformed man said in a processed, emotionless voice, "Don’t be overly nervous. This place is absolutely fair. If it’s confirmed you didn’t violate any rules, you’ll be released. If the complaint is valid, everything will follow procedure."
Time in the tribunal room was temporary. As long as the complaint was not upheld, Shijian could return to the transit station. Shijian ignored the latter.
There was no way Doctor Feng’s complaint would succeed.
After learning that those complaining about her had nothing to do with Renxin Hospital, and that it was just Doctor Feng’s ghostly antics, Shijian was no longer too tense.
Now that she was told not to worry, Shijian decided to cooperate.
“Can I contact my friend now? She went through the dungeon with me and would be very worried if she can’t find me.”
Shijian’s friend was Tang Tian.
The two had experienced the dungeon together; Tang Tian had already left, but Shijian was not at the transit station. Shijian felt Tang Tian would be very anxious.
“Also, can you stop making me keep my head so low?”
Shijian pointed to her neck, which had been bothering her since last time.
“If your settings mean I can’t be seen, just pixelate my face directly. Why force me to keep my head down?”
Shijian thought: Although there’s probably no one else here, it doesn’t look good to keep my head down; my invisible crown will fall off!
She even gave a suggestion.
The uniformed man said nothing. Doctor Feng couldn’t help but speak, smirking at Shijian’s misfortune.
“I told you not to be nervous, but aren’t you too relaxed? You’re treating the tribunal room like a lounge. How do you talk to an enforcer like that?”
Shijian: “Shut up!”
Uniformed man: “Quiet.”
They spoke almost simultaneously, both aimed at Doctor Feng.Doctor Feng: "..." inexplicably aggrieved.
Obviously, making a phone call was not allowed, but what Doctor Feng didn’t expect was that the enforcer actually followed Shijian’s suggestion. He didn’t explicitly say so, but Shijian felt the invisible force forcing her to keep her head down had disappeared.
Shijian lifted her head and saw the full view of the room—
The surroundings were still blank; the tribunal room had no walls. She and Doctor Feng both sat on these special chairs. Opposite them was a solid-looking redwood desk, with office supplies on top. The uniformed man across looked very imposing, his shirt buttoned all the way to the top adding a bit of austerity, but his prominent Adam’s apple gave off an inexplicable hint of desire...
Of course, none of that mattered, because his face was completely pixelated.
Shijian couldn’t help but grin: What a huge mosaic!
Such a magical look.
Shijian had already adjusted her posture. She was wearing the outfit from before entering the dungeon—a high-slit red dress. She straightened her back and crossed her slender, straight legs.
Instantly vibrant and alluring.
No longer needing to keep her head down, Shijian no longer looked like the complained-about party but rather like she was being interviewed. She sat on an iron chair—no, this was her high-end ride, the kind that doesn’t need fuel.
Doctor Feng also lifted his head. Shijian glanced at him and said to the uniformed man, “Actually, he doesn’t need to raise his head. If you didn’t say so, then he doesn’t have to.”
This was a right she fought for. Why should Doctor Feng benefit?
Doctor Feng: Damn!
He hurriedly said, “I need to. I also need to.”
...
"Complainant: Doctor Feng, employed at Renxin Hospital Psychiatry Department..."
"Complainee: Shijian, low-level streamer..."
The uniformed man tapped the desk twice with his knuckles, signaling the official start of handling the complaint.
He read out the identities of Shijian and Doctor Feng.
Shijian sneered, feeling slightly annoyed by the label "low-level streamer," silently thinking she would quickly become a high-level streamer.
The uniformed man with the pixelated head continued, "Doctor Feng complains that streamer Shijian defrauded him, swindling his money, specifically causing him to spend three thousand paper currency to buy a booklet titled ‘From a Poor Beauty to Owning a Hospital.’"
?
The processed voice of the uniformed man was emotionless, and his face was still pixelated, but Shijian seemed to read his speechlessness.
Doctor Feng had a belly full of curses and was already impatiently beginning to explain.
"Enforcer, I need assistance. She defrauded me. She told me she could make me rich, so I bought the booklet. When I opened it, it was all her photos, and at the end, it told me not to be fooled into wasting money."
Doctor Feng simply could not swallow this grievance. Old and new hatreds piled up. He wanted Shijian to pay a price, at least making sure no money entered her pocket.
Shijian wanted to defend herself with an innocent face, "I’m innocent."
"I even wanted to give you the booklet for free before, Doctor Feng, but you said you didn’t want anything at the time."
"Who knew you secretly bought the booklet later? Doctor Feng, you’re really a quiet flirt."
Doctor Feng suddenly gained the nickname “quiet flirt,” "..."Shijian looked at Doctor Feng, who was giving her an unreasonable glare, and said, “Between us, this was clearly a proper transaction—money in one hand, goods in the other. You got the booklet, didn’t you? So why are you turning around and denying it now?”
“Besides, wasn’t what the booklet said correct? Advising not to waste money is actually one of the conditions to become wealthy—open your sources of income and save money. I was telling you to save.”
Could he not understand her good intentions?
Shijian added quietly, “Actually, my photo book sells for a high price and is in short supply. The one you got is a limited edition, so technically you made a profit.”
rustling paper sounds
Doctor Feng’s booklet was now in the hands of the uniformed man, whose knobby fingers flipped through it.
The uniformed man had understood the whole process and could trace the events. He finally declared, “The complaint is not upheld.”
...
Shijian hadn’t forced any sale, and the last statement was not false, so there was no fraud as Doctor Feng claimed.
Shijian let out a sigh of relief. Frankly, she had felt confused about being dragged here just because of Doctor Feng’s complaint.
Doctor Feng looked very dissatisfied with this outcome, his eyes nearly popping out as he glared at Shijian.
He lost his temper and said hatefully, “Just you wait.”
Shijian: Oh ho, is Doctor Feng going to become her spirit pet and follow her around too?
Now Shijian somewhat liked this chair setup. She couldn’t get up, and neither could Doctor Feng, so he couldn’t attack her.
But Shijian still remembered there was a third party here, so she quickly looked at the pixelated face, pointing at Doctor Feng with her fair fingers and said to the uniformed man,
“Aren’t you going to do something about him?”
“He dares to threaten me right in front of you—I’m so scared.”
Doctor Feng: ?
If you were really scared, why would you keep provoking like that?
However, a golden glowing chain had already appeared on Doctor Feng’s body, invisibly signaling the uniformed man’s stance.
Seeing the chain, Doctor Feng showed a surprised expression, “The highest—”
His voice was abruptly cut off, forcibly silenced.
Shijian didn’t catch what he said and furrowed her brows. What was Doctor Feng shouting just now?
“If there are no further issues, you may leave.”
The uniformed man facing her spoke. After he finished, the iron railings around Shijian’s chair vanished into thin air, signaling she was free.
However, Shijian didn’t immediately nod to let him send her away.
She stared at the pixelated face with burning eyes and said, “The complaint is not upheld, so that means I didn’t do anything wrong, right?”
“Doesn’t that mean I deserve some compensation?”
Shijian made her accusation.“I’m very busy, making tens of millions every minute. I’ve wasted a lot of time here and got scared. My friend must be worried sick about me outside…”
Shijian was fine now, but this so-called execution officer had a problem.
Ghosts were being exploited by Shijian, so the other party couldn’t escape either.
Shijian: Pick the feathers off the passing wild goose!
Absolutely not missing any opportunity to gain benefits.
Originally, the furious Doctor Feng saw this scene and somehow felt comforted—why was that? He didn’t seem as angry anymore.
With Shijian here, it seemed true equality was realized. She didn’t care whether it was ghosts or execution officers.
…
The uniformed man was silent for a moment. When Shijian thought he was going to pretend to be deaf and mute, he spoke, “What do you want? Say it.”
Shijian quickly said, “Ask a few questions, and also financial compensation.”
Uniformed man: “One question, but it cannot exceed the scope I can answer. If you get no answer, it counts as invalid; also, due to this mistake, ten thousand points will be given as compensation.”
“Alright.”
Shijian was quite satisfied with this, after all, she was testing the waters. If the other party ignored her, she would have no choice.
He still sat facing her, waiting for Shijian’s question.
Shijian hesitated a moment, “Your badge…”
She wanted to ask where the uniformed man bought his [Cannot Be Directly Looked At] badge, because she wanted to buy the [Everyone Can Only Look Directly At Her] badge.
Of course, Shijian thought that if he couldn’t answer, this precious opportunity would be void, and she probably wouldn’t get an answer anyway. So she removed all sensitive questions about the dungeon, the streamers, and the app, and chose a relatively safe question that was also important to her.
“How do streamers complain about ghosts in the dungeon?”
Since ghosts can complain about streamers, there was no reason they couldn’t complain about ghosts.
But Shijian had scoured her phone and found no entry or button for this.
She nervously stared at the pixelated head, unsure if he would answer.
Fortunately, Shijian got the answer.
“Just shout ‘I want to complain’ directly at the phone.”
Shijian was ecstatic inside—complaints really were possible.
She just hadn’t expected she needed to speak out loud; no wonder she couldn’t find the button.
“All answered. You can return to the transit station now.”
The uniformed man tidied the items on the table.
But Shijian still had things to do. She sent a friendly greeting to the bound and silenced Doctor Feng beside her.
Shijian’s smile was bright as a flower, but to others it looked like a mischievous grin.
She said, “Doctor Feng, please continue complaining about me!”She wanted to come to the judgment room again—sit for a while, ask questions, and get points for free. Was there such a good deal?
Then she might as well come often.
