Chapter 79
The Abyssal Evil hadn’t been dead for long—his body was still warm and within the usable range for fingerprint unlocking. Shi Jian simply pressed his finger to the phone without touching his body directly.
Shi Jian: It wasn’t scary when killing him, but looking at the scene now, it’s still a bit physically uncomfortable.
Touching him was absolutely out of the question.
The streamers who had been enthusiastically trying to crack the password now suddenly felt a bit foolish after watching Shi Jian unlock the phone with a fingerprint.
Jiang Xinyue also followed Shi Jian’s train of thought. The head was still over there, after all.
So she asked, “If the fingerprint doesn’t work, could we try face unlock too?”
Shi Jian had indeed thought of that as well.
Whatever works to unlock it—the faster, the better.
All the streamers present gathered around and started digging through the Abyssal Evil’s phone.
They hoped to find clues about Blazing War God. Previously, the streamers on Train 4444 were in a “closed-book exam” situation—
They didn’t know what dangers lay ahead, nor what was causing them.
It was like walking blindfolded, just waiting to be slaughtered by the game and struggling to survive.
But thanks to Shi Jian, they now had the fortune of a “open-book exam.”
The difficulty dropped significantly.
As Shi Jian put it, “Now we’re the ones holding the initiative.”
What was already known: aside from the Chainsaw Maniac, there were two other dangerous individuals. Well, now only one remained, since the other had already been decapitated by Shi Jian’s chainsaw.
The next challenge would likely be the explosion caused by Blazing War God.
He was in the dark. So were they. What Shi Jian and the others needed to do was drag Blazing War God out from the shadows!
Live chat audience: Wow!
A role reversal?
Prey becomes hunter, hunter becomes prey—just a bit exhilarating.
…
With their lives on the line, everyone was on full alert, determined to survive. They successfully found the group chat between the three of them on Abyssal Evil’s phone.
From the chat history, both the streamers and the audience learned that this was a small, like-minded, anti-social group brought together by mutual resentment toward society. They had made a detailed plan in this group.
They had no personal grievances against the passengers of Train 4444—they simply wanted to vent their rage, and so they turned their blades on innocent people.
And now, they were targeting the streamers.
“Scum.”
“Bastards!”
Several streamers cursed them out in anger. But they quickly refocused on the main issue—stopping the explosion.
“Has Blazing War God boarded the train yet?”“What does he even look like?”
“Is the bomb on him, or will it be planted somewhere else?”
These were the key issues being discussed. But even the first question already had them stuck—how could they figure out whether Blazing War God was on the train or not?
Shi Jian had a solution. She just asked directly.
Using Abyssal Evil’s account, she tagged Blazing War God in the group chat: “Are you on the train?”
Blazing War God quickly replied, “Yeah.”
Everyone: ????
Simple, direct, and incredibly effective.
After confirming that the one responsible for bombing the train was indeed onboard, tension spiked. Shi Jian moved on to step two, speaking in Abyssal Evil’s voice:
“Which car and seat are you in? Let’s meet up. I’ll bring you something to eat.”
Some streamers hesitated, thinking: Even though Shi Jian seemed reliable, wasn’t this way of probing a little too reckless?
But Blazing War God actually picked up the thread and replied, “What food?”
Shi Jian: Darling, we’ve got a chainsaw combo and a bullet deluxe on the menu—totally up to you.
Of course, Shi Jian didn’t say that out loud. She listed a few of the meal options available on the train, and even said she could buy him something special if he had any preferences.
Just when everyone thought Shi Jian might really coax out his location this easily, Blazing War God suddenly pumped the brakes.
He followed up with suspicion: “We’re in the tunnel already. Why haven’t I heard any gunshots?”
According to the plan, Abyssal Evil was supposed to start executing people with headshots once the train entered the tunnel and turned dark. But since Abyssal Evil was already dead, no gunfire had happened.
Now Blazing War God had noticed the discrepancy.
Several streamers lost their smiles upon seeing that message, breaking out in cold sweat. The tension spiked again.
Were they about to be exposed?!
Shi Jian’s hand paused slightly on the phone—but she quickly typed out a reply: “Aren’t I chatting with you right now?”
When Blazing War God asked why the shooting hadn’t started, Shi Jian just flipped it back—because she was busy chatting with him.
Perfectly logical. Blazing War God had nothing to say to that.
Then Shi Jian added, “Bro, the show’s just getting started. I’ll raise my gun silently and pull the trigger on those dressed all fancy.”
Shi Jian remembered the exact lines Abyssal Evil had used earlier, and now was the perfect time to use them.
…
To completely dispel Blazing War God’s suspicion, they needed to simulate the missing step.
Gunfire and screaming could be faked easily. Shi Jian had already confiscated Abyssal Evil’s gun, and the others could coordinate the screaming.
One streamer was specifically monitoring the surroundings—if any suspicious person appeared, they’d take them down on the spot. If Blazing War God delivered himself, all the better.
The train passed through several tunnels in succession. Now that they realized it, everyone felt a deep sense of dread—just imagining the carnage if Shi Jian hadn’t taken Abyssal Evil out ahead of time was horrifying. At first, Shi Jian was still holding the gun, but using it was physically exhausting. After Jiang Xinyue offered a string of firecrackers, Shi Jian was finally able to take a break.
The sound of firecrackers was similar enough to gunfire anyway, and since Blazing War God was far from the scene, all he would hear was the noise.
Shi Jian couldn’t help but sigh, “Why does it feel like it’s New Year’s?”
Let’s all raise our drinks and bottled water—cheers!
The other streamers felt the same way.
The atmosphere instantly turned festive.
They were supposed to be getting gunned down, but now they were setting off firecrackers?
From another perspective, it wasn’t terror anymore—it was celebration.
New viewers entering the stream were confused by what they were seeing: “Wait, is this a horror game instance?”
While other streamers in different zones were screaming and in total chaos, this group looked like they were celebrating the New Year.
With firecrackers and coordinated screams, the streamers successfully recreated Abyssal Evil’s segment.
But it was clear that Blazing War God was a more cautious and guarded person. He never once approached the train car where the gunfire had sounded.
Shi Jian kept in touch with him, saying her part was done—what about his?
Blazing War God’s doubts were now completely dispelled. Although he still refused to reveal his location, he did share some crucial information.
“I’ve gifted the 4444 train a blood-colored bomb. My flesh will be the first to fuse with the explosion.”
Blazing War God was wearing a bomb on himself. Compared to the other two, he was even more unhinged.
This meant they no longer had to search the train for the bomb—just finding Blazing War God himself would be enough.
“I have an item that might help. It can trap Blazing War God inside and block all damage for a certain period of time.”
One streamer proactively suggested.
Shi Jian’s eyes lit up. “Not ‘might’—that would be extremely useful.”
If they could find Blazing War God and trap him, he wouldn’t be able to blow up the train.
…
The situation became increasingly clear. The key now was to locate Blazing War God—but that was also the hardest part.
He refused to reveal his location, so they would have to search for him manually. They’d already experienced how difficult it was to search for train tickets in a crowd earlier; that alone had shown how hard it was to find anything on a packed train.
And the train still had so many passengers…
The chainsaw killer had slaughtered quite a few, but since no passengers had disembarked, the rest simply ignored the pools of blood and corpses, going about their boarding like nothing had happened.
They had no idea what Blazing War God looked like.
Shi Jian said, “Then let’s force him to stand out—make him different from the rest of the passengers.”
The stream’s viewers felt completely swept up in Shi Jian’s momentum now, fully invested in seeing how she’d expose Blazing War God—how she’d make him stand out.
But to make that happen, they’d first have to reach the monitoring room and get a god’s-eye view of each carriage and every passenger’s movements.Since every carriage on the train had surveillance, there had to be a monitoring room on board as well.
While Shi Jian was searching for the monitoring room with the other streamers, she once again saw several train attendants.
These attendants always vanished without a trace whenever danger arose on the train, and now that Abyssal Evil’s segment was over, they reappeared—clearly to cut off any chance the streamers might have of seeking help from the staff.
Suddenly, Shi Jian thought of something and told the other streamers to go on ahead with the search—she had something else to do.
One streamer noticed Shi Jian walking toward the train attendants and warned her in advance:
“You won’t get anything out of them, don’t waste your energy.”
She had already tried.
But Shi Jian waved her off. “No, that’s not it.”
“I need to pass along a photo and a message to a ghost.”
Streamer: ? You offer that kind of service now?
The train attendants only ever seemed “alive” when they were out to sabotage the streamers. Otherwise, they were sluggish and numb, and now that the train ride was in its second half, Shi Jian felt like they resembled robots even more.
As soon as Shi Jian approached them, just like that streamer warned, she got an immediate response—before she even opened her mouth.
“Sorry, miss, I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”
Shi Jian rolled her eyes and pointed out, “I haven’t said anything yet.”
Attendant: “...” He had jumped the gun, but he didn’t reply further and just kept pretending to be deaf.
Shi Jian picked out the one she thought looked the most handsome among them and asked, “Li Xu, is that you?”
“Your girlfriend Wang Shufen asked me to pass you a selfie of hers, and she has a message for you.”
That supposedly handsome attendant still replied, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
But another male voice rang out in surprise:
“Shufen?”
“Did Shufen send you to find me?”
Shi Jian had mentally prepared herself—beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if Wang Shufen said he was handsome, he probably wasn’t all that handsome. Maybe knock off a few points.
But she never imagined that the discount wouldn’t just be 50%, or even 80%.
It was a full fracture.
